  1. I have a destiny river spa I got from a family member. They got it from family leisure. From what I understand It has two 5 hp pumps. One cycles on and off and maintains temperature and the other controls other jets. The main pump has quit working entirely (was getting louder before it went out). Is there a way I can utilize the other pump to maintain temperature? It's 4 degrees outside and I don't have time right now to repair it. I need to prevent it from freezing.
  2. Welcome, Love this place for info. Although I still cant get all my hot tub jets to work!
  3. How is your top? Does it hold in heat well?
  4. I was able to get 2 of the bigger ones to come on by twisting them.. all the little ones surrounding the bigger jets are still not coming on at all.
  5. OK I have been trying to get a new hottub set up for a week or so now.. after dealing with a few leaks that werent mentioned when I bougth the tub.. (guess that comes with buying used ) I notice that the jets arent coming on. The pump is working well. There are 3 knobs to control the valves to allow water to flow through all the jets. Only one valve is doing anything. It is activating a huge jet in the middle that looks to kee the water flowing through the tub. The other 2 do nothing. There are several jets throughout the tub and none of those are coming on at all. There are only a couple that are working and some that are barely coming on. There is so much insulation underneith that it is very hard to navigate the tub. My best guess is that the lines are clogged for w/e reason.. The tub has sat for a few months at least. I am not sure if there is something I can plunge? Or is there an area I can start with to get the jets working? Could there be air in teh lines??? There is a clear line with a cap on it that is coming from the tub near the filter/pump area.. there isnt any water in it I am not sure if that means anything.
  6. Ok small update.. I have searched this tub and I have not found anything else besides the heater..and pump. I dont think this tub has one.. even though it says ozone generator on the back side of the removable plate. I went ahead and hooked up the pump the the label that says pump... for obvious reasons. I hope it didnt run with it plugged into ozone.. not sure what it would hurt but.. its obviously not meant to go there.. not sure why anyone wouldnt have the common sense to plug it in where it says PUMP!
  7. I just got a used hot tub that I am learning how to hook up. I have not been able to find an exact owners manual for it yet but I found one that I belive to be close. I took some pictures of some things that have me confused. This first picture is the Balboa instrument panel showing where to hook up the AC volts etc. Here is a side picture of the panel showing 3 different plug ins. OZONE, PUMP, and LIGHT. This picture is exactly how I received it. The pump is plugged into where it says "OZONE". What I find weird is the plugs are exaclty the same. I would think if they couldnt be crossed the plugs would be different. I also think they are color coded. Because the plug for the pump is red and so is the label. I do not know where the "ozone generator" is.. I have not been able to located the plug which I assume will be yellow. Anyone know why they would have the pump plugged into OZONE? Im guessing if it works like this then the panel distributes power the exact same for both units.... Here is a Picture of everything from more of a distance. Maybe some one here can clarify what some items are. I need to find the ozone generator and the plug for it and make sure these are in the right locations. Would the "ozone generator" be behind another panel? I have a wiring diagram that shows the ozone generator but it is only saying it has the white black and green hooked up and the pump is asking for all 4. (white black green red) So that could mean the plugs cannot be switched. Any heelp would be much appriciated.
  8. http://www.uspartscenter.com/icon/ProFormTempest.pdf This is the closest I could come up with..
  9. Wow must be nice to live in free hot tub land! I tried searching all night for info on witch proform i have.. The only models I have found are the Tempest, orbit, saturn, and magnus. Mine doesnt match any of those. It is closest to the tempest but does not have waterfalls and the control panel is different. Id imagine it is a slightly downgraded version of the tempest but i cant find any info.....
  10. The tub actualy has some sort of plastic base accross the entire bottom of it. Is this typical on most hot tubs? I have no money for a concrete slab what so ever so I am really hoping I can use pea gravel safely. Im assuming the base underneith will be the deciding factor for being able to use pea gravel.
  11. We are brand new to hot tubs.. so I am trying to soak up as much information as I can. Im a little slow learner sometimes because I think a little too much about what I am doing but once I got it I dont forget it! 8) Does anyone here have any idea what kind of tub it is? It is 7 x 7 and looks to seat 6. I got it for 400 dollars and they said it works great. Im hoping i didnt get ripped off  They said it is ruffly 5 to 6 years old. I know that it was a mother to move. We have an electrician coming out to install 220 and a 60 amp breaker after holloween. The tub hasnt been used in several months. I was just wondering what sort of precausions should I take when setting it back up? I know it will need a new filter for sure and I am going to look in the chemical section to see about what I will need to get me started.
