  1. When you said I would need a motor shop for them, you meant to buy them correct?
  2. Calspa was and maybe still is using GE motors. The problem with GE motors there is switch in the back of the motor attached to shaft. These switches break and the piece fall the bottom of the motor. Here is the wierd thing if the pasts stay near the rear of the motor is will start and run although not start very well. While the motor is running if the parts move towards the armature in the motor it will not run or start. If you pull the pump out and look in the back I bet you see the silver colored parts. If the spa is out of warranty I would replace the motor with a AO Smith motor number b234 which is close to what you have. just use the same wet end When I had the pump apart there wasnt anything loose on the inside of the motor housing. That is where I would be looking for this part correct? So everything appears to be working just fine except the low JET setting. It just hums. Filter works, low jet setting hums, high jet setting fine. Any ideas?
  3. Is there a reliable repairman that can do Cal Spas warranty and non warranty work in the Corona area of Southern California that anyone can recommend. I had someone come out to my house that Cal Spas themselves recommended and he wanted more money to repair or rebuild my pump than purchasing a new one which built my lack of trust in him immediately. I paid him his visiting and assessment fee and repaired the pump myself. However I still seem to have a couple issues. My user inerface board on the spa seems to have possibly went out. One of the buttons is stuck in, temp wont adjust, ,etc... Any help is appreciated thanks,
  4. Hello all, I am hoping you can help me out. I have a CalSpas above ground spa with a multiple speed 5BHP pump. I just rebuilt the wetend and reinstalled the pump because the motor had the infamous hum and didnt function. Reinstalled the pump last night, filled the spa, gave it power and I hit the Jets button to see if everything was functioning. VIOLA! It worked. FYI this was the first time Ive ever done anything myself on the spa but I am mechanical. Later that same night I went to check on it to see if it was heating up, nothing. So I hit the jets button and the lower level of jets were the infamous hum again but the higher level of jets worked. I called it a night. This morning the temp was set for 90 EC which means heat to 90 degrees and maintain it within 10 degrees give or take (maintenance type setting for when not in use). So it did heat up over night. I hit the jet button, viola! Oddly though now I only have off and on for jets (I could be mistaken but I swear I am supposed to have 2 speeds of jets). So I decided to test the heat and set it to climb to 100 for use so it should maintain that temp within in a degree or so give or take. Now the pump keeps coming on about every 5 minutes and only hums for 10 seconds and stops. I have bleed the line by loosening up the input line to the pump and draining any air, rebuilt the wetend as previously stated. Now I am at a loss, anyone?
