  1. Well I called the Ministry of Revenue and they confirmed this. In Ontario, if the dealer is delivering and installing the tub (hooking up new or to existing electrical) then the customer should NOT pay PST. Having said that, we can only assume dealers have factored the RST into the price of the tub already. Though I've encountered one dealer that "played dumb" to the RST and was obviously going to charge for it (and has done to to other customers), on top of the mark-up. Also, another form of abuse would be the dealer saying they're going to take off $1000 due to sale. But really, they're just deducting the PST you should have had to pay to begin with. Either way, the customer is most likely paying for it. For those of you that see PST on your invoice, certainly question it.
  2. Recently I read the following post regarding PST exemption on new hot tubs in the province of Ontario. Can anyone confirm this applies to delivery only? Reading the document on the Ontario Government website ( http://www.rev.gov.on.ca/en/notices/rst/43.html ) it sounds to me more like you need the retailer to also do the electrical work, not just drop off and hook-up to existing electrical. But then again it also sounds like if the retailer places the tub in the "permanent" location then then you are exempt from PST.
  3. Are you positive this applies to just delivery? When I read the document on the Ontario Government website it sound more like you need to retailer to also do the electrical work too, not just drop off and set the tub up (hook it to existing electrical).
  4. The BullFrog claims to be leak free as the lines are IN the jet packs. I also know Arctic has many service panels. Both tubs seem to be on par for servicing. I just don't want something that's going to crap out each year.
  5. Yes. The BullFrog 362 is 7'4"x7'4" and the Summit is 7'5"x7'5". I found the Artic Spa to "feel" larger, bigger foot, deeper and the captains chairs are nice. Over all I'm looking for quality, don't care much about a lounger. Both are on par for pricing... around $8500.
  6. I like how all the piping is in the actual jet pack, but I can't see myself buying additional packs beyond the initial purchase. Being an Artic Spa owner, how do you find it for energy efficiency? What's your hydro bill to run the tub each month?
  7. Living in Northern Ontario where winters can reach -40c, I'm looking for a quality tub. Right now my choices are: - BullFrog Series II 362 - Artic Spa Summit Designer 1. What is your experiences with these tubs? 2. Better to have more pumps? 3. Cedar or composite housing?
  8. I am in the process or shopping for a Hot Tub and have two choices which each use Chlorine or Salt Water. I'd like to hear opinions on Chlorine vs Salt Water. -Maintenance issues? -Health concerns? -Equipment damage (Apparently Salt corrodes lines/jets)?
