  1. My pool was cloudy at the beginning of the summer. Some pool clarifier from Wal-Mart cleared it right up.
  2. Bought a house with an above ground pool last year. When it came winter time I bought a nicer mesh pool cover. Within a hole developed in the middle where I had placed one of those air pillows. I thought that was weird but thought I'd remove the air pillow and see what happens. Then another hole formed in the cover on the far side of the pool. I thought maybe the mesh didn't like the sun in Oklahoma, so with that I ordered a second pool cover, a cheaper solid one. Now it made it through the winter in one piece but not without forming several holes and basically being melted in others. After doing a bit of figuring, I think I nailed the problem on the head. My windows on the back of the house have some sort of anti-sun coating on them which seems to reflect the sun...I've noticed in the evenings when I've been in the yard there are some spots where the sunlight seems hotter than the others. So the holes were formed by the sun reflecting off my windows and melting the pool cover. Now as fall/winter is coming up I wonder what I should do this year. It's kind of expensive to buy new pool covers each year just to have them get destroyed. There aren't many trees in our neighborhood so I am contemplating just leaving the pool uncovered. What are your thoughts/suggestions?
