  1. Thanks for all the replies...We decided to go with the smaller 4 person hot tub. This also will fit better on our deck. Well, cant wait to get it put in...probably next month.
  2. Hi all. I am just looking for some seasoned hot tub owners opinions on larger vs. small tubs. I am looking to buy my first tub and am debating what size to get. I am almost sold on a Hydropool Model 4000, which is a small tub (3-4 person tub; probably only 2 person comfortably). I was quoted for at $5700 for this tub, and after looking around I see that I could get a larger tub (of a different brand) for around $5000. The majority of the time it will be just me and my girlfriend using it, but we ocasionally have small get togethers where it would be nice to be able to have more people enjoy the tub with us. While I don't really want to buy a larger tub just to accomodate friends, I am just looking for some opinions from those who maybe purchased a large tub, and wished they went smaller (or vice versa). Thanks
  3. Another question. Has anyone had any experience with Dynasty hot tubs?
  4. Yeah, we looked at the Sumatran. Did not really like the layout (only ~16 jets and no lounger).
  5. Alright, so we are pretty sold on the fact that we want to buy a hot tub. We have looked into a few and have it narrowed down to 4. Before I list these I'll say we're not going to rule out any other suggestions, which is why I am posting this. We are not looking for anything too big (4-5 max), and don't want to spend more than $6000. Out of the four we are considering, we are most impressed with the Hydropool (based on the components and the local seller). Here they are: 1) Hydropool Serenity Model 4000 (is 2008 model; i believe it was listed at $7,500) -quoted at $5700 including shipping and set-up, cover, chemical starter kit, 10/5/3 year warranty -the local dealer also has their own service staff -seller really emphasized the 185 gpm rating (said most tubs are in the low 100's?); is this a big deal? -also claim to be the most efficient 2) Dynasty Sun Valley Breckenridge -$5,000 with shipping, set-up, cover, starter kit, 20/7/2 year warranty 3) Dynasty American Series Spirit -$5,800 with shipping, set-up, cover, starter kit, 20/7/2 year warranty -really like the neck jets in this one 4) South Seas 530L -$4,695 with cover and 3 year warranty (would have to pay 200 for shipping) We have also looked at Hot Springs tubs (really impressed with company), but did not really find any that fits our budget. As I said, we are new to this, so any suggestions on the models above or any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
  6. Thanks for the replies...Y'all confirmed my thoughts. I'm pretty sure I can figure out the deck situation on my own. No need to be hassled by a salesman on my Saturday afternoon.
  7. Hi all, To begin, this is my first post, and I have not had time to really browse the site for discussions on this topic. Anyway, I am really considering a hot tub and have been doing some research lately. I went to the Thermospa website and tried to get a quote (to get idea of price range). I was contacted by phone to set up a free home inspection visit (tomorrow), which i figured couldn't be a terrible idea (since there is no commitment). After reading terrible reviews regarding Thermospa hot tubs (and there sales tactics) I am considering just cancelling. One thing I thought would be useful from the visit, would be help with site selection. I'd like to put a hot tub on my deck, but am not sure if I will have to reinforce it. Would it be worth listening to the salesmans pitch to get advice on the deck and what I need to do regarding wiring? I am pretty sure I am not going to get a Thermospa...unless someone can convince me otherwise (and not the salesman). Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!
