  1. Been told dealer can't (or won't) go lower than $7495, plus tax on a 2009 Caldera Hawaiian. Includes covermate I and steps and starter chemicals for the Spa Frog as well as delivery. What kind of deal am I being offered?
  2. I've been looking at the Tiger River Caspian (a 2008) and that dealer has a second store with Caldera and suggested I look at the Caldera Hawaiian. Prices relatively similar for a 2009 Caldera. Today, I walked into the Dimension 1 store and they have a 2007 Lotus Bay for only a bit more than these other spas. Current "Sale" price is $7,995. Pretty sure that's a sweet deal, even if it's been sitting around getting a bit of wear and tear being on the showroom floor for almost 2 years now. It's a bit bigger than the other two spas I've considered and the 40" depth is attractive since I'm 6'3". Looking for confirmation that this is in fact a great deal as well as any thoughts about the 2007 Lotus Bay. Thanks.
  3. I've heard some horror stories from spa owners that have had some damage to the exterior of their homes because they placed the tubs right up against the house. I see nothing in the Pre-Delivery guides that speaks to this issue. Could it be a factor of poor insulation of the tub and heat escaping from the side? My guess would be it would be true of all spas and the damage would be caused by the heat (and moisture) leaving from the top of the tub. Anyone with any experience on this? How far do I need to put my new tub to keep my house safe?
  4. I've started the process for my first hot tub purchanse by looking at Hot Springs Vanguard, Tiger River Caspian, Jacuzzi J-365 and Sundance Chelsee. Frankly, I'm not sure I'm comparing apples to apples (it depends on who you talk to). The Sundance dealer down here says that the Chelsee is comparable to both the Tiger River and Hot Springs; I would have thought the Hot Springs would have matched up with the 880 series on Sundance (and the 400 series in Jacuzzi). The Hot Springs dealer seemed to think so too. Frankly, I'm not sure my budget gets me to the Vanguard level (though the price quotes seems closer than I expected, and coupled with the ozone and power box included, it's probably the same). I don't like the Caspian's jet package as much as the other two so it could be that the 365/Chelsee/Vanguard are the most likely scenarios. Are there "natural" competitors here? Does the Jacuzzi 400 series match up with Hot Springs and Sundance 880 and therefore Does the Jacuzzi 300 series match up with Tiger River (and Limelight, perhaps) and Sundance 780 series? I'm guesing that maybe it's just not that simple. I haven't pushed too hard on any of the intial quotes but the 365 and Chelsee seem to be around $1,000 less than the Vanguard (again not factoring in the electrical box and ozone that the Vanguard comes with). Looking for some opinions on how to compare these tubs. Are they true competitors? I've read a similar post regarding Tiger River and the 365....and one on the 365 compared to the Majesta, but haven't seen the Vanguard thrown in there. Thanks!
