  1. levels where good... i ended up having it resurfaced. cost 2900. much better now.
  2. and i checked the calcium hardness. its at 325 ppm.
  3. i bought by home about six months ago. i am just finally getting the pool ready. it has light brown looking stains throughout. i noticed that everytime i brush it gets milky. tonight for the first time i got in just on the steps and it seems that there is a chalky substance that rubs off on your hands and feet when touching walls or bottom. this leads me to believe i have some big problems. I have been searching on the forum to see any previous post but did not find my answer. I have a feeling the pool will need to be resurfaced. It is an ingroud pool. i know it does not have a liner and is not fiberglass but i do not know much about it. i know it was supposed to have been "acid cleaned" before we moved in but it looks like it was just pressure washed becuase of the streaks. its a 20,000 gallon pool and by my reseach it looks like it will be over 10k if it has to be resurfaced. if this is the case i will probably just fill it in. my 2 questions are: 1. does this sound like it could just need an "acid wash" or a resurface? 2. i hear talk of "filling in pools". does this mean simply fill it with dirt and pretend its not there so it can be revived later, or bulldoze the sides and patio in then fill it and pretend it was never there? i know no one like when someone asks a questions that was previouly asked but i did do searches and did not find my answer and will appreciate any help.
