  1. sounds realy cool. never thought about the tv aspect
  2. You know, I bet its ok to sit ot on dirt and be ok. i had this type of arguement with my mother in law over all things being to pre rinse your dishes before washing. I don't as the machine I have eliminates the need but I think she is doing what she knows was the standard same as I did and many of us here for a spa pad. I just turned 40 and I think I now know what it means to be set in ones way
  3. I can see where youd be upset with that but let me assure you that I paid alot more for my Ford Taurus which my kids affectonately named "Borris" the taurus for alot more money then 4k and got a response close to what you did for the spa for warranty work. I wonder if it's a generational issue off pass the buck and not my problem......Just a thought.
  4. I liked the spa very much the only reasom we didn't get one is the Costco Platinum II devistated the priceing while useing the same insulation techniques, same brand of motors, same brand of spa pacs and manifold plumbing as well as the plastic base. The Costo spa was 3999. The closest clearwater was the 300 series with a lot less jets less pumps and also they wanted to charge for the fake wood panelling where Costco didnt and the 24 hour circ pump as well as the ozone. that said the Costco tub is almost as nice as the on sale ultrasage 9000 for 8k. No offense but the Westfeild mall store salesman got very rude when I directly compared the Costco elite spa to your brand......I had to laugh whe he said that the Costco tub had inferior pumps untill I showed him they are identicle rateing and same manufacturer as yours He even went so far to say the controller was less quality untill i showed him the specs from Costco with the Balboa spa pac. I told him he has a great product but to bash a competitor that he was missinformed about only made him look stupid and his product less appealing. and he then stated that the lifetime warranty I had on the plumbing, shell and base was only good for seven years in washington state. Wow, thats alot to believe and Hydrospa sure didn't back his story either. Anyhow, You have a great product but ethics could deffinately be better.
  5. best way to buy a spa is cash! that simple. A spa is to help out stress and tension not add another monthly obligation.
  6. [quote name='NightRi get it from you or costco.
  7. youd return it the same way it was deliverd, in a truck or on a trailer. how ethical is it for a dealer to charge 3k more for a silliar tub?
  8. What? I can offord any tub i want. this is a matter of whats a personal choice and you please tell me how the so called better tubs are worth 3 to 5 k more? I could buy a 42 inch lcd tv, surround system and a patio set for the differance Oh I did buy that stuff so for me that was a choice not what I can afford. I also think its funny when the first thing a spa saleman tells you is they can finnance, now thats buying something you can't afford.
  9. Why do you say that? To get a tech in four days is absolutely reasonable and good turn arround Are you upset because he paid 4 k rather the 3 to 5 k more? and Costco satisfacton rateiing is better the anny and i do mean any spa dealer due to their generouse return policy. I'ts also evident you dont know anything about the spa as you lump it in with the lower end Keys backyard frome Home Depot rather the realize that it is more in line with the Hydrospa Liesure line...Prestine model to be exact. So before you say something is junk, I'd suggest going on facts not emotion.
  10. Why wouldn't you prepare a pad being the is a lot of money to invest and not "do it right" I made a 8x8 pad out of 5/8 minus with fines, compacted it well the put stone pavers over it. Cost was abot 400 dollars total and two days work but I feel better knowing the site is good and solid.
  11. What did the service department tell you whe you called for service?
  12. I think that from what I recall the desire has a steel frame versus wood and I hear the insulation is more on the desire. The costco model is better then the Omni but a nit less then the Prestine modell equivilent that Costco had. The desire model is the new platinum III and will sell at Costco for 5k. I have the Elite Spa Platinum II that sold for 4k but no longer available. The models seem to have the same plumbing, shell and motors 56 frame. Warranty also is the same from what I can see. I almost didn't get the spa due to the low price but my wife said no tu, no *** so needess to say I tok my truck and got it the next day I am glad we did as everything else we looked at wa 7k to 10k for similliar specs and features around where we live.
  13. I have the Elite Platinum Spa and have had no issue with Hydrospa in there advice in start up issues ie.. customer support as well as a ozonator issue that was dealt with quickly and professionaly. I ended up just haveing to clean the filters but, they had no issue sending A tech to fix my spa had I needed it. So far I am impressed and saved thousands.
  14. same issue, I called Hydrospa who said check the valves , clean the filters and if tha doesent do it the they would send a tech....Filters where dirty so that was my issue but just a note to those sayeing no customer support, I beg to differ.
  15. A real spa? it is a realspa and in his price range. you suggested something he can't afford why didnt you suggest a mercedes as well. As to support? Keys backyard has a established network of servicemen same as the big brands. when the spa breaks down he calls the sevice department, one number! I have never seen a salesman go on a service call to repair a spa. Why would you call your salesman to have him tell you "hold please" or "let me get the phone number for you" Times change and so does the way people do bussiness.
  16. You obviously haven't looked at the tub you're bashing! First off, the warranty is through Hot Springs. The return policy is through Costco. This tub is 5600 dollars total and you suggest 2000 dollars more or 36 percent increase! Is that your mark up which means that your dealership would sell that tub for 7600?!!! Geeze, its people like you that make honest middle class people not want to go to a dealer because it's becoming very obvious that there is a huge mark up on spas I hate the feeling that I get when I got to a showroom and now I know why. Costco allowed my family to have that tub for thousands less the you would sell it.....I also know Costco doesn't loose money either so I see the handwriting on the wall for the greedy dishonest dealers. 15 percent markup isn't enough? Costco thinks so As to the warranty...I'd call Hot Springs not a salesman! I have never seen a salesman fix any tub! No one ask to pay more for a home appliance from Whirlpool or G.E. based on if they have a local dealer! They want a reputable company to stand behind and service there product not a salesman! Go Costco!!!
  17. My Wife and I have added insulation to the elite platinum II spa where there ia a gap between the shell and the skirting. We are debateing about adding the reflective buble foil in addition to the styrofoam panels already there or to remove the 1/2 ich styrofoam and instsall foil backed styrofoam, not sure yet as i broke my wrist two weeks back so the tub just kinda well got moved off my priority list till now:)
  18. I agree! I thought the platnum II had sweep 90 plumbing, sorry must be the meds as i am writting one handed due to a broken wrist. >How do you plan on insulating the cabinet? I havr already sealed the lip of the spa with rolled foam rope but I am debateing which is easier tha being to use the refective bubble wrap in conjunction with the styrofoam panels or remove them altogether and replace them with 3/4 " insulation board with refective side facing towards the inside of tub. Any ideas?
  19. My wife and I have had the platinum elite II for four months as well. We love our spa and have looked at all the brands available and can say that we looked for over a year and nothing comes close to this spa for the 4k selling price! We have a freind that is a buyer from costco and we know that if this spa, customer service was junk then Costco would switch venders immediately as the did with Weslo spas,E machines computers and other sub par vendors. The case with the hydrospa/platinum II is that they have sold the elite version I,II and soon III with great success. My Costco has had no elite spa returned according to member services. I doubt that if other mechants had a generouse return policy like Costco (knowing costco in one store sold at least five per week just this model) They sold out the shipment as well as display weekly could claim no returns in stores as does Costco. As for the comparison to a spa that cost 6,8 and yes 10 thousand dollars... you bet it does! let's compare the 56 framd dual pumps, Balboa E.L.series spa pac (not the cheapy plastic case) but the high end with metal cabinet. 24 hour 1/15th hp circ pump, cd ozone. new thermal insulation on panels as well as tub base abd foam on tub. Our electric bill is about 35 dollars a month and we use the spa everday minimum 30 minutes. Temp is always 100 with economy and sleep mode not used. very reaonable and in lne with freinds H.S. Sovereign and another freinds Sundance Optima as energy goes. Take a look at the plumbing, non blue glue fitting with lifetime warranty. Sundance? Hot Sprigs? I think not! Shell warranty ect is very on par with much more expensive spas. The Hydrospa sterline leisure is the same tub albeit different shell being only blue(starry night). This tub retails for more the ten thousand dollars and is the same tub, check it out, all componets are the same! As for servive, our freind's Sundance spa needed service due to a leak and where without a tub for two months! After two incompetent attempts to fix it they finally did but had to wait for parts. Hot Springs, same issue but three weeks wating for parts. Nothing different than what you seem to be experiancing. I am sure that customer service will assist and resolve your issue especially since they want to be one of costco prefered vendors. I dont know why everyone is into bashing a great spa and getting very aggitated when one compares the 4k tub to the 10 k tub. Hyundai blew the lid off the qualty vs. price, vs brand loyalty myth over the last few years only to rival Honda and Toyota this last year with the Hyundai Sonata. There is a huge markup in spas that costco simply doesn't take like the major brand salesman and stores do. I know someone that sells Sundance and I had to sit down when I read the dealer profit margin on their tubs. They could come very close to Costco/ Hydrospa if they choose but they dont.
