I have a 2001 Prodigy that is leaking from left corner of pump compartment. The circ pump failed during the winter, and froze broke the heater. Heater and pump are now replaced, but now have to fix the leak. I have it half full (below the level of the jets in this corner) and the leak starts; the power is off, so no pumps or heat running. I cut away the liner, and have dug out the foam exposing the black air intake. The hot side from the heater goes through the wall, and I have exposed that connection. It looks like a 45 glued onto a piece of white flex pipe, which I suspect follows the bottom of the tub down to the floor drain. I don't see any leaks in these pipes, but the water is pooling in the places I dug out the foam. Will I find another joint in the flex pipe that could be leaking ? If it is a solid piece of flex pipe to the floor drain, it doesn't seem like it could be leaking.
I feel like I am close, but now wondering whether to keep digging, or rethink the situation. I've seen the advice on the air intake, which a) I haven't had replaced, but I can't find it . . . Could that be the source of a leak if the tub is only half full and no power ??? Could the leak be under the tub, and water backing up into the pump compartment ??
When I discovered the leak, it was moderate with the pump off; but heavy when I turned on the jet pump. It made me think it had to be one of the jet fittings, but with the tub half full, and now leaking, that doesn't make any sense. The next closest jet is on the left side below the in spa pump switch. It is under water, but seems like it is too far away from the motor compartment to be the source of the leak.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
