  1. Hello, I have a Hot Spot Mallorca that is 10+ years old. It has a waterfall feature. I noticed the water was shooting out very unevenly and I could see that something was stuck inside. I pulled out a flat rectangular piece of plastic. see image. The dots look like clear glue perhaps. Anyone know what this is? It must be part of some internal structure the came loose. I dont notice any water leakage. Any feedback appreciated. Thanks.
  2. Hi, I have a hot spot mallorca. I was in for a long time last night, more than an hour. Suddenly the spa power went out. The fuse (on the spa's outdoor outlet) had popped. I got out and turned the fuse back on, the display panel lit up, I hit the jet button and the fuse popped again immediately. I tried again today, same result. I opened the service panel today, no apparent problem, nothing was wet in there. Does this sound like a familiar problem to anyone? Does a hot tub have an internal fuse that may burn out and cause this? Thanks!
  3. Hi, Hey all, I have a hotspot mallorca, and one of the pumps is shot (main shaft deeply rusted) I need to order a replacement and I'm hearing that the current watkins- emerson pumps/motors aren't made anymore. Has anyone replaced one of these? can you point me to a replacement? I can post pics if needed Thanks! hp :1.5 volt 230 amp 8.0/2.6 Intake: 2” plumbing (3” O.D. pump threads) Discharge: 2” plumbing (3” O.D. pump threads) Discharge Type: Side Wet End Discharge Orientation: Top (can easily be rotated)
  4. Hi, Thanks for responding. I checked around under the tub and found the area of the leak, I removed the panel from that side and found that the leak is actually coming form the pump itself. Are there any likely culprits here for an 8-9 year old tub? A faulty washer, or seal or joint? Thanks!
  5. Hi I didn't use my HT for a week and a half, when I walked by I heard a weird noise, took the cover off and the water had dropped below the level of the top most jets and they were spraying into the air. I changed the water and performed maintenance this weekend, the motor cabinet was dry. I did not notice water pooled around the base anywhere, but it would be hard to spot since it sits on gravel. My cover doesn't fit that well anymore, I'm wondering if that much could have evaporated, but Ive never noticed that much evaporation before. Anyway, my real question, my tub is maybe 8 years old, if there is a slow leak and its not in the motor cabinet, are there any places I should be checking? Any typical joints where a leak develops on older hotspots? Are there standard ways to test? Im thinking about shoving cardboard underneath and see if it gets wet. Thanks
  6. Hi I was refilling my hotspot mallorca with the hose and it fell out of the tub and onto the ground where it was in a position to shoot into the open cabinet onto the motor. This went on for some time. Should it still operate when it dries? How long before I turn the power back on 24 hrs? 48? Thanks
  7. Hello I purchased a Hotspot Mallorca in 2009 and I've been pretty happy with it. I haven’t used it for a few weeks and when I opened it up the other night the water was maybe 70 degrees, I have it set for 101. I live in the north east and it has just started getting cold. I thought maybe heat was leaking from the cover so I tightened the straps, but the next day it had not improved. Is there something I can try? Does it sound like some component needs to be replaced? Thanks
  8. Hello, Hand jet attachments are available for some tubs: http://www.hottubwarehouse.com/Waterway_Power_Storm_Hand_Held_Jet_212_7757_p/212-7757.htm I don’t think this would fit with mine and I’d rather D-I-Y anyway. Does anyone have a clever idea for a way to attach the hose to the jet with minimal permanent changes to the tub? Thanks!
  9. Hello, I have a hotspot malorca. I bought it new two years ago and have not replaced the filter. I do clean the filter out every time I change the water. How often is the filter supposed to be replaced and are there signs of wear you should look for? Thanks
  10. Hi, I shut down my hotspot hot tub for the winter. I cleaned it out and refilled it last weekend. Everything is working fine but when i turned the jets on a lot of stuff blew out into the water. I think it was sediment from the bit of water left in the pipes and now it looks like flakes swirling around. Has this happened to anyone else? Is it anything I should worry about? I'm planning to just drain it out again and refill next weekend.
  11. We found we did not use it much the first winter, and given that we didn't use it much I decided to shut it down this time for cost savings. IT was nice once you got in but running to and from was not pleasant. Also I like to read and write while I'm in there and when it got really cold you didn't want to even have a hand out above the water. I do miss it and hope to fill it up again soon. thansk for the responses, I'll call and check on the warranty.
  12. Hi, This is my second year with a hotspot outdoor hot tub. I live in the north east. The first year I kept it running through the winter, this time I shut it down in November. I emptied it completely and used a wet dry vac to drain the lines. The other day I took the cover off to check it out and there was a lot of water inside. Snow and ice sat on the cover for some time, I cleaned it off as best I could but it was a snowy winter. I guess as the snow melted it got in somehow, I think water got inside the cover itself as well. It feels soggy and heavy and smells moldy. Can water typically get inside a cover? Can water get inside the tub when the cover is on? The tub and the cover are only two years old. Does a cover typically fail so quickly? Thanks
