  1. Dave the warranty on a Lotus Bay is 5 years, your parts and labor warranty is good until 2013, I don't know why they would advise you otherwise. I would love to help you adress the issue you are having, or at least help you to avoid these in the future. Some of these issue could be related to the water chemistry or someother factor. If you would like to shoot me a PM with your contact information, I will see what I can do to help. Best regards, Dennis Porter D1 Technical Support Dept.
  2. D1 Spas does factory training and field training when needed. The best experience is alway on the job, since almost every case is different.
  3. What factors are most important to you...? I would recommend that you wet test any spa that you consider buying, I would recommend you try the Amore Bay...! Many factor should be considered when buying new spa, these factor should include quality, fit, warranty and dealer support. I would recommend that you consider all these factors and wet test any tub that you like, and pick the unit that best fits your needs.
  4. Thanks for the commpliment they don't come often around this board. Take your time, look around. And those warm fuzzys from the dealers are important. D1 is a great brand and in my top 3. The Nautilis IMO is the best all around tub on the market today and my personal favorite. If it can be had for 7000-8000 take it. I also like the Marquis if they have a model localy you can get for 7-8 G's Make sure to consider seating, if it says 5-6 count on 4 comfortably maybe 5. And a lounger will take 2 maybe 3. Most buyers opt to not get a lounger the second time. Loungers are very personal and require a wet test for sure. Both D1 and Marquis make a value line also that are solid and backed by a stong manufacturer. They can be as low as 4 grand up to about 7. Not a problem.. Thank you for the response and also same to the D1 rep! Well, we went today and actually believe we are going to go with a Hotspring Sovereign. The price is a little bit higher, but at the same time, the features are on line with the D1 and it had some pretty interesting features and innovations that we liked. It really wasn't that much more than the D1, so I think that is what we are going to go with. Not 100% as I advised the wife that I had to do a bit more research, but I did like the spa very much. What do you think about the Hot Spring models? Thanks for everything and all the input, Damon And yes, the warm and fuzzies are extremely important, and the dealer we went to today definately gave us that feeling completely.. It's just as important, if not more to me to have those good feelings about the dealer, as your going to have to have maintenence on the unit sooner or later(after all, it is a mechanical device), so that is extremely important to me/us. Hot Springs is probably the most well known manufacturer out there. They have a long standing reputation for quality and longevity. I like there stuff. However they are not in my top 3 because I think they are a bit overpriced for the same quality as a few other brands. Solid tub though. Caldera, same. Let the wet test decide. Bring your mom in law. I would have to agree with Roger, a wet test should be the deciding factor. I would also suggest that you look at the different warranties, see how they differ. Whatever decision you make, enjoy the spa...!
  5. I could probably help you out with some information on this system, shoot me a PM with your phone number.
  6. I am a fan of both those manufacturers. I would take the D1 if they were both priced equal or close. I am very suprised the Emerald is priced the same as the D1. Both those tubs are 4 person tubs. But this is simply may opinion. Thanks Roger.. I was actually hoping you would reply as from the responses I read, you and a few others gave the most unbiased and pure opinions(IMHO). We are going to look at some more dealers, as the one that had the D1's that we looked at yesterday was ok, but he didn't give us that "cozy" feeling.. LOL And I will report back. And yes, it was strange to me that they were that close in price also. But the one thing I did not consider was the lighting my wife wishes to have installed. That will probably add another 500 to it, making the difference more like 1000-1100, but that in my opinion is still more than acceptable.. Hopefully we will find our dealer today.. I thank you once again for your response.. Damon Hello Damon, My name is Dennis and I work in the Technical Support Department at D1 spas, let me know if you have any questions that the dealers in your area can't answer. I couldn't offer an unbiased opinion on which I feel you should choose, but I would suggest you spend some time looking at the quality of the products and choose a dealer who has a been around. If you have any questions for me, shoot me a PM with your number.
  7. If you could provide the spa serial number, I could provide an part number and the name of a supplier where the part can be ordered. You should be able to find the serial number located in the equipment area or on you paperwork.
  8. Do you have a number where I can have someone contact you..? I work with the technical support team at D1 Spas, if you would like send PM with your contact information, I would be happy to have someone contact you directly.
  9. Try unplugging the flow switch and the circulation pump should stop cycling, it will give you a flow issue that will show the flashing lights on the topside. There is a possiblity that there may be a flow issue, but the cycling of the ciirculation pump is definitley a flow switch.
  10. If the circulation pump cycles on/off than it would mean the flow switch is stuck in the closed position and is trying to open it. You should replace the flow switch and the problem will be resolved.
  11. Dennis This phone number takes me to a generic message machine and I left one last week with no returned call. Try (800) 345 -7727 I will be waiting for your call.
  12. That actually sounds like a great deal, and D1 has a reputation of standing behind their products. I would recommend that you wet test both products, if you haven't already.
  13. The Hi-Limit Sensor regulates the temperature of the heater, it will shut down if the heater is above 119 degrees. I could be that it is related to insufficient flow throught the heater and it is getting to hot, it could also be a false readiong from the equipment in the area. Just a couple of things to look at..!
  14. While a very nice tub.....IMO still high. 5-7 grand. Any water ever been in it? sounds kind of high. I looked at an 08 amore bay for 11K. even though the warranty on the sarena will be honored it is probably more likely to be tested. If it is 6 years old it must've had water in it already. I'm finding that a lot of dealers are desperate to make a sale with the economy in the state that it's in. I 'm still not ready to purchase. I'm finding that there are numerous other dealers in my area. Shop around before you buy is my recommendation. I'm a firm believer in not falling prey to a knee jerk purchase I might regret. For a grand or two more you could purchase a brand new top of the line spa. also wet test. mine on the amore changed my mind. Have any opinions on the marquis line? That has been a close second all along! just looked at their site................at 450 gallons and a seven seater the epic only has two pumps?? I've wet tested a few spas (not the marquis so I shouldn't judge) and wasn't thrilled with some of the pump arrangements. the larger tubs with fewer pumps use diverters to regulate the amount of water being moved around the spa. Therefore you sacrafice the jet outputs if you have a few guests in the tub with you. It sounds like you would if you were looking at the sarena. I'm in the same boat as you, looking to purchase but still undecided. Lately I've been looking at Artesians. I've got a quote for an 09 Piper Glen for 12.5K. The 2003 Sarena Bay actually has 3 jet pumps, 1 dual speed and 2 single speed pumps.
  15. If at all possible, make a day of it and try to wet test each of them on the same morning/afternoon. It'll make it much easier to compare that way. Chances are by the end of the day you'll have your answer or at least made some discoveries that will help you decide. The warranty starts on the installation date..!
  16. 17. It is unfortunate that you had some issues with the spa, unfortunately these things do happen sometime. I work in the Technical Support Department at D1 Spas and was involved in the conversation with the technician that was troubleshooting your spa. I maybe a little biased, but I will sday that we do everything that we can to make the customer glad they purchased a D1 hot tub. Please don't hesitate to email me if you have any questions that I can help you with. Best regards, Dennis Porter D1 Spas Tech Support
