  1. In all fairness, you should also give credit to D1dennis. He may not have been as detailed, but he picked up on this before anyone else. John Thank you Gentelmen, I appreciate the the acknowledgement..! You guys did a great job working together and gettting it figured out. Thanks again..!
  2. D1 Spas has at least 3 dealers in within a short distance, I would be happy to put you in contact with one of them. If you would like to shoot me a message with your conatc information, I will direct you to a dealer that can accomodate your needs. Dennis D1 Tech Rep
  3. As I said from the beginning, the GFCI is one of the most common things done improperly on new installations. Really glad to hear that you got things, figured out and that it is not the circuit board. Best of luck and enjoy the spa..!
  4. John is correct, and entitled to his own opinion. He is correct, this may require a technician. But I'm of the belief that the poblem may be with the GFCI.Did the breaker hold at the original location?
  5. I'm not familiar with the heater that they use, but I have suggestion. With the power off,try pulling the wires from the terminal block and put wire nuts on them. Then try resetting the breaker to verify that the breaker will hold. Secondly, try remving all load devices from the spa and see if the breaker hold.if you diconnect the heater, remove all 3 wires. These are couple of things that should help narrow down the problem.
  6. Is the GFCI wired correctly? This is a common problem with new installs.Does the breaker trip right away, or does it take a minute?
  7. I'm partial to concrete slab, they are a little more likely to remain even over time. The pavers definitely look awsome and if the ground is stable they should be fine, but I have heard horror stories before. One other option is to build a pad for the spa and install some of detailed pavers to finish area around the spa. Just a thought.
  8. I would definitely fix the leak, leaks never get smaller..! I would have someone repair the leak and run it for a week before they invoice you for the repair, this will make the service person spend a little extra time to be sure that the job is done right the first time. Even a small leak can cause damage to electronics, wood and other internal components that can be more extensive over time. Just my opinion..!
  9. Definitelytake the opportunity tocheck out the D1 dealer in the area, I would be happy to help you schedule a wet test with a dealer in your area There are alot of key factors to consider when buying any spa, price, quality, efficiency and the ever important "wet test" are the main points. There are alot of factory reps in this forum and there are alot of great products, but the best way to pick is to look at the availble propduct and see what fits your needs and your budget. I would also investigate the dealers in the area and see what kind of "Post Sale Support" they have established. Whatever you do don't rush into anything and do your research, you are making an investment in a product that should help you relax. Dennis P. D1 SPas Technical Support Rep
  10. The most important thing to consider is how the spa fits you, wet test it before you decide. I would recommend that you get owner feedback and not make a rush decision, it will often bite you in the end. This is not to say anything about a specific brand or product, just suggesting you look around and see what is available and what fits you best. Dennis D1 Spas Tech Support
  11. See the "Journey" in action at the Colorado State Fair in Pueblo and the New York State Fair, I have included links for anyone who would like to drop in and take a look. The chances are that once you see it in action, you will likely be taking one home..! http://www.coloradostatefair.com/index.php?page=general http://www.nysfair.org/home.php This spa is not just another "round spa" you will see that when you check it out...!
  12. I would also recommend that you check out the @Home line from D1 Spas, they are very reasonably priced and the quality is top notch. I would suggest you check out their website and at least take a look at them. http://www.d1spas.com/spas-@home.html If you have any questions about the D1 warranties, just let me know..! 13. I would recommend that you try removing the jets and soaking them in a solution of vinegar and water, a 4 to 1 solution ( 4 gal water 1 gal vinegar) this help remove any calcium buldup or other mineral deposited on the jets insert. I would also clean out the jet body with something like a scrubby bad, be careful not to use and overly abrasive pad. Good Luck..! Dennis D1 Spas Tech Support Rep

  15. Hello Dave, On the surface it does sound like the topside control may be the cause of the erratic pump function.I would recommend disconnecting the control, if the pumps operate on the normal filtration cycles, it is likey the topside control.Sometimes auxillary button can lockup the the main control, but I don't think the Nautilus has an Aux button.I will shoot you an email an we ca figure it out. 17. uote name='recycleman' date='Aug 30 2009, 04:54 PM' post='87213'] Hi all, it's been quite awhile since I've been a visitor of this great forum. After many months reading and reading the posts on here I decided to purchase a used Dimension One Nautilus. LOVE IT! Lately though, it seems the control pad is sometimes not working although some functions on it will. For example, I won't be able to turn on either jet 1 or 2 but I will be able to change the temperature. Sometimes I cannot use any function on the keypad then again sometimes everything works fine. I know the jets are still working because it will run on it's own to cycle itself for filtration or at least I think that is why it's doing it. Is my keypad shot? Have I somehow programmed it to do this? Any help would be appreciated. ThanksDAVE Hello Dave, My name is Dennis, I work in the tehnical support department at D1 Spas. Why don't you pm me your contact info, I would be happy to help you figure the issue out. Dennis
  18. So far there are some good pieces of information here, and thank you all for the feedback. However, I would like to keep this as an opportunity to contribute ideas to a future project and we all agree here that a supported warranty is important. So with that, how about some more ideas on what make a great tub great..!

  21. LOL, Jim has no point, he just rambles on; he likes to hear himself type. While he has basically given up on conquering the spa world he has turned his attention to becoming the next big thing in the world of music and after listening to his soundtrack you can obviously see that the sky is the limit as he is a musical genius like few others before him. Oh well not everyone can be a "Rockstar" or a tycoon, he'll have to get over it sometime.
  22. 'Jim_The_Jim' What do you base your claims on...? It sounds to me like you want to speak in generalities, I would definititely say that when it comes to bashing other manufacturers, that is not a good idea and is likely not appreciated..! I would add that the D1 Spas @ Home Series spas are and will continue to be one of the many high quality, beautiful and reasonably priced spa on the market. Don't you think that if your business is spas, it makes sense to make them available in all price categories. I work in technical support deparment at D1 Spas, and I would like to inform you that we take very few calls related the @Home products and we consider them to be nearly bullet proof. So in closing, I would ask what is your whole point of your baseless rant..? PS. I know this is an "OLD POST" but the same applies...! Interesting premise. I haven't been in the industry during a prior recession. I would think that expanding your product line to include new models that are lower in price makes sense as it offers people an affordable alternative. When times improve, people will trade up. Might be a bit premature to say as far as the topic spas are concerned. Is there any historical evidence for this conclusion? Early Tiger River, for example. They were a low end product when they came out and had a lot of problems. The 700 series of Sundance with shells that fell apart and weak pumps and jets. The Echo Series of Jacuzzi. The Calderas that showed up at Costco back in 96. The D1 home spas that were junky. The Marquis copies of Hot Spring. Shall I go on? When Hot Spring started removing the Stay rite pumps, so did Sundance. So much of the quality of the past is gone, because of a reduced market and people actually believing that selling poor quality is the way to save their company. It is a bad business policy, because it causes consumers problems when they try to buy what they can afford and it breaks down. I guess it is the "American Way" of business. Back in 1991 there was a huge recession in CA and less across the country. The smart thing to do is to remove features and keep the quality high. If you reduce the size of the pumps HP, don't reduce the size of the quality. Use less expensive controls that have the same components running the pumps. I have been looking at Chinese Spas. Guess what, guys? They are coming on very strong. I have been getting detailed photos from the factories over there. Their problem right now is that they are putting too much on them. Most all the models have pop up TV, and sound with lights and you can call you spa from your cell phone (the Chinese make most of the computer parts, so...). Still about half the cost of a US built spa with a crap, ABS/acrylic, shell. These spas have acrylic with fiberglass and friggin stainless steel frames. All this hot tub "stuff" is about to undergo a huge transformation. Unless this "free trade" agreement is changed soon, we will all be shipping parts and Spas from China, because they are smart and are agressive in manufacturing. When it comes to spas, if you are ignorant about hot tubs and spas, then you will get taken. The odds are against you if you are lazy and don't do the research. Even the Chinese have better products than this Hot Spring stamped out plastic stuffed with foam and lots of worhtless tiny bullet jets. Are people that stupid? Yes! People in this country fall for the corporate BS every day, like it is some sort of security blanket, while they rip you off with deception. Give yourself a break and go read about spas on the net. Read all that you can find, and then go shopping with some knowledge. http://www.soundclick.com/havenhead
  23. I was wonerding what is important to a consumer, when they buy a spa. I think we will all agree that price, efficiency and ease of maintenance are all key factors. But I wanted to see what "features" people find to be the most important to them. There are many things that I feel are nice to have but not must haves such as a stereo, tv's, coolers and a whole list of others devices that have somehow been incorporated into the new spas of today. I just wanted to see what you feel is a must have for a great spa, and this poll is for all manufacturers, consumer and technicians..! What do you like in a spa..?
  24. I would definitely recommend you check out the Amore Bay and the Lotus Bay from D1 Spa, they are both large well equipped spas. If you need help locating a dealer in th area, I would be happy to assist. D1 has a strong presence in the UK and they have alot of great service technicians as well. Dennis
  25. What about the D1 Spas products, we have alot of really great options in that price range. I owuld suggest you check out the Venture or Wayfarer. If you have any questions shoot me a pm.
