  1. Looking for reccommendations for an electric pool heater for in ground, indoor pool. Currently using two Hayward 11 KW spa heater that were reccommended by a Hayward rep. Burning out elements continuously. Now Hayward is saying that the spa heater elements will not survive running the heaters long enough to keep the pool heated. Power is not an issue. There are 350 /295 watt solar panels on the property. Currently have 2 /50 amp 240 volt circuits suppling power to the (2) existing Hayward heaters. Researched Coates pool heaters, but the amp requirement is 73 amps on a single 220 volt line. The Ecosmart 18 did not have very good reviews. The heating elements appeared to be the very same or similar to the elements used in the 11 KW Hayward Spa heater.
  2. I have an existing 50,000 gallon pool that has a spa built into one corner.I want to move the existing pool heater to an elevation 12 ft above the pool surface water level. The heater would be located directly above the pool pump. Taking the 12 foot of static head into consideration and the small amount of friction head in the heater, heat exchanger. How would I size the pump to include the spa GPM? The pool is in a totally enclosed structure. The pool heater is a Pentair Model PN460737
