  1. UPDATE: My wife drove down to the dealer to pick-up the materials and gun. What they sent back with her is "Plastic Welder" from DevCon and NOT the "Metal Welder" I was told. Is there a significant difference? does this work as well? -Chris
  2. Thanks water Boy. The Metal Welder from Devcon is what they said they used, but apparently it didn't hold. they are offering to give me a new tube of the Devcon, the mixing applicator, and let me borrow the gun for the weekend. Is there something they did incorreclty the first time if in fact this product was used and it failed in cold weather? Is there something tricky or a secret to getting it to work correctly? Lastly, do you have a preferred location for attaching these? Thanks again for the info! love this forum. -Chris
  3. I had an Arctic Spas AquaTremor system installed in my spa about 18 months ago. Last week we had a power outage and a freeze here. The tub itself did not freeze anywhere, but BOTH speakers feel from where they were glued on the floor inside the tub. The glue has clearly failed due to the cold condition. Apollo Spas has said they will come out and re-install the speakers and cover the materials and labor. but there will be a $99 trip charge. Seems unreasonable to me to pay 100 bucks for a failed install on their part. Any recommendations? Also, if I have to do it myself, can anyone recommend a better product to use than what they obviously used? TIA, Chris
  4. Thanks. I tcould be the filter (looked and it was quite dirty). How often do you need to change them? I thought mine was disposable...are they all cleanable? Any recommendations on a good filter type? Thanks, Chris
  5. I've had a Summit Spa for about 3 months now. The spa has been great w/o any problems to speak of....until the middle of last week. I went out to get in the spa last Wednesday and the spa temp was about 75 degrees and there was a code "HL" flashing on the control display. The breaker had not been tripped. I did some reading and found out this is an override for the heater, in the event it hits 125 degrees, I believe (at least that was the one reference I saw on the web). They suggested rebooting the spa by power cycling the GFCI breaker, which I did (off for 30 seconds and then back on). The spa came back on and heated back up to 102 degrees where I have it set. All good. Well, this weekend (Sunday AM), the problem repeated itself... flashing "HL" and the spa temp was at 81 degrees. Reboot again and as of now (Monday evening) all is well again. The problem has only occurred twice, but both within a week of each other. Is this a problem other have seen with Arctic Spas? What would/could be causing this? As always, thanks in advance, Chris
  6. So about 3 months ago, I bought an Arctic Spa (Summit). The salesperson had told me it came with the "Peak" Ozone, but after further inspection, I discovered that ti came with the "Arctic" Ozone (a much reduced ozone system). After speaking with the manufacturer, I found out that the Peak Ozone system has been discontinued by Arctic Spas, so that is no longer an option. The system has been replaced by the new Onzen system by Arctic Spas. After numerous discussions, the reps service department has agreed to come out and install the Onzen system in replacement of the Arctic Ozone currently on the tub. I have a few questions: Does anyone have any real photos of the installed Onzen system, so I can verify the install? Any startup suggestions for the Onzen system? I'll be draining the tub for the install and starting over from the tap Are there any separate controls for the Onzen system that I need to learn? Thanks in advance, Chris
  7. Thanks Budge; I am going to call them tomorrow to discuss. If they will offer to do the Onzen system for free, I will consider keeping it, but I do feel as if they are trying to pull a quick one on me at this juncture. -Chris
  8. Hi guys; I'm new to this forum, but there's some great stuff here. I'm wondering if anyone can help me out on this dilemma About 3 weeks ago, I purchased an Arctic Spa (Summit). It was a floor model and had several good options. I am new to spas, so I did not yet know all the nuances of what is good, better, best, but felt I got a pretty good deal with some minimal education in advance. That being said, the store manager told me the model had the "Peak Ozone" system installed. When the unit was delivered and I set it up and wired it, I discovered the system installed was NOT the Peak ozone, BUT was in fact the "Arctic Ozone". So I did a little reading on this site and a few other areas and determined that almost without fail folks seem to think the Arctic Ozone system is of little value and is no comparison to the Peak Ozone system. So this is where it gets sketchy. Apparently, the Peak Ozone system was/is discontinued in 2008 and is no longer an option. The Peak Ozone has been replaced by the Onzen system, which is a completely different system using salt. So here is where I now stand. The spa dealer is offering to swap out the GENERATOR on the arctic system for the one they use for the Peak Ozone and he says that will essentially give me the Peak Ozone system. Can that possibly be true? It seems from my reading that there is far more to it than that, but maybe someone here can clarify for me. Again, from my reading it seems as if the Peak system was a far better system. Is the Onzen comparable? What would it entail to switch over to Onzen system? Looking at quoted prices, it seems as if the Peak Ozone system was MUCH more expensive compared to the Arctic and in fact appears to have been more expensive than the Onzen system is today. If so, it seems as if I should be asking them to switch the Arctic system out for the currently shipping Onzen system, but I’d like some clarification as to how logistically possible this is. Thanks in advance, Chris
