The easy one the cleaners you have listed are about the same. Polaris kind has the market on cleaners and the Legend was almost a copy of the 280
As for which system to use. Yes the cell has to be replaced, but with good water chemistry which is important no matter what sanitizer you wil use, and cleaning the cell it will last more than 3 years. I heard them go as long as 8+ years and still working. You will also need to replace the ozone bulb or chip that produces the ozone before a cell. Whatever will produce ozone gets weaker as time goes by.
The Salt systems are the easiest way to go. You have the water tested and add the right amount of salt an bingo the machine makes Chlorine in short. Once the salt is in the water it stays in the water. The only way it will leave the water is from lots of rain, splash out, filter maintenance etc. It is also ajudtable as far as output. Another thing you don't have to go the pool store and buy buckets of chlorine. Salt system is safer and is the way to go in my opinion.
I don't care for Pentairs generator, because Zodiac and Goldline and Autopilot give you more information to help stay within the guidelines and display important info. The salt system automatic makes what it needs and also reduces or can eliminate to use of chlorine shock.
What you have to think about if your builder is pushing chlorine and has a retail store, he might understand salt system, which if you do have problems can he help. or is thinking of losing chlorine sales, but you still need to buy all the adjustment chemicals. Is there another pool store you can go to?
If you are the fence just get chlorine without the ozone and down line you can add a generator
Thanks for the info!
It sounds like salt is the way to go up until the last line.... Could I also go Salt now and add an ozonator to the salt system later to make it perform better if necessary.
They did just switch from Hayward to Pentair. Is one better than the other?
