  1. It is a brand new hot tub. It actually getting better and I haven't done anything different. It's actually time to clean the filters so I'll make sure I do a good job getting all the cleaner out. We haven't washed our swim suits yet with soap. We just use water. I'm thinking someone had lotion on but I hadn't thought that it might just be that it was it's first fill and oils on the plastic. The water is still crystal clear and all levels are what they should be so I'm not going to worry about it.
  2. Pictures of my hot tub. It's a marquis reward. Just got it delivered 2 weeks ago. We still have to finish the landscaping around it. It's sitting on 7 inches of concrete. Thanks to everyone that has shared. I might have to borrow the gazebo idea.
  3. We just started up our spa a week ago. I have been learning how to balance the water which I think is good. PH, AK, Bromine levels are all fine. My total hardness is low which I have been slowly increasing over the last few days. The problem now is we have bubbles that form when the jets are on high. It's a Marquis Reward with Ozonator. I read that lotions can cause this but me and my girlfriend don't wear any lotions. We had a few people over last weekend but this really hasn't started until a couple days ago. We don't wash our swim suits in the washing machine. The water is still clear and the bubbles are really light and pop when you try and scoop them out. I guess I was wondering if I should be concerned by the bubbles. We are getting the water tested at the dealer tomorrow to make sure I'm reading the strips right.
  4. We live in central Illinois. Close to Champaign. I think we are going to pick up the spa next weekend. To save a little cash we are picking it up ourselves. We have a covered trailer so it shouldn't be a problem with a few extra guys. I'll probably start on the wiring this weekend if the weather holds out.
  5. We ended up buying the Reward tonight. We went there all prepared to buy the Mirage and again started looking at the Reward. We both knew it's what we really wanted. I offered her $500 less than she previously said and she accepted. I'm very happy with the decision. The Reward has twice the jets, two pumps, constellation light kit, and more room. It will definitely fit 4 comfortable and give us different seat options for the two of us. The bad part now is waiting. We have to wait for the ground to thaw out to pour a pad off the deck. I'm hoping for 4 weeks but I think it might be more like 6 weeks before we get it installed and running. Thanks for the comments. I'm sure glad I found this forum. I have been reading a lot of threads and it helped me make a more informed buying decision.
  6. We went back and started getting interested in the Mirage. It will only be the two of us so it's more than enough. I think the Reward was swaying our decision to spend more money because of the fancy bells and whistles. The Mirage is $5600 which puts it in our preferred price range. I actually thought the deep seat with the neck jets was more comfortable. It just felt like it fit me better. It still has the aqua ambiance LED light and a 9" waterfall. It also has the upgraded headrests and 160GPM pump. That price does include cover, cover lifter, stairs, 1 year chemicals. We are going to spend the weekend thinking about it. We wouldn't be able to use it for another 6 weeks until we can get the new pad poured off the deck. But we don't want to miss out on a good deal.
  7. Thanks for the reply. It would be cash so I might try and get it a little lower. Thanks for the heads up on the headrests. I haven't seen the new 09 in person so I had no idea they were different.
  8. We have been looking at hot tubs for the past couple of weeks. We are leaning towards the Marquis Reward vs the smaller Marquis Mirage. The local store has a new 2008 model on the floor. They wanted $7800 out the door with cover lifter, stairs and year supply of chemicals. The tub is a signature series with constellation light kit, wireless remote and two 160gpm pumps. We loved the feel but it's a little more than we wanted to spend. It is the older model and they seemed eager to sell. They said people were wanting the 09 models. Would I be out of my mind to ask for $7000 out the door with all those extras? I don't want to ruin my chances of getting a little better deal. Also, am I loosing out on anything by buying the 08 model. From what I could tell looking around there aren't many differences. Thanks
