  1. Good news folks....the jet is working fine today!! Why ask why, just enjoy it I guess! Thanks again!
  2. Hello kind folks. I'm back to get some advice on my Nautilus. A couple of months ago my Nautilus tripped the breaker and powered down. I tried to turn the breaker back on immediately after I noticed the problem but it wouldn't hold. After trying to figure out the problem myself with no success, I decided that calling a spa tech would be a good idea. Just for the heck of it, I tried the breaker one more time before I called and walla it held!! Today after just receiving a new cover for the tub, I gave it a good cleaning and filled it up. Powered it up and it held. The only problem is that jet 1 doesn't work. I took a peek at the pumps/motors. When I attempt to turn on pump 1, I hear a clicking sound and that's about it. I think the click is just the click from me pressing the jet on. Pump 1 is also very warm. First of all, is the jet toast? Secondly, could this have caused my breaker to trip?
  3. Thanks for the advice fellas. I am not much of a handyman so I think the next logical step would be to call a hot tub tech in the area. The help was very much appreciated.
  4. I am the proud owner of a 2003 Nautilus. Hadn't given me a second of trouble until a few weeks back. I went out to check on it as I hadn't been using it as regularly, and found the power to be off of the unit. I went directly to my breaker box and the breaker had tripped. I tried to reset the breaker, but it wouldn't hold. My neighbour is an electrician and offered his services. This is what he told me he found, in his own words...I was reading continuity between the black and white(hot and neutral) on the board. I took wires off to make sure I wasn't reading between wires, and it was definitely between terminals on board in the tub. Not sure if the motor is shot, and it's reading between the motor or what? Don't have a lot of experience with spas, but I can't see why it's ever a good thing to read between hot and neutral. No visible burn marks, or odour on board. Would any of you fine folks have any idea what might be wrong with my hot tub? Thanks in advance for you help!
  5. I just was in the tub for my morning soak when I felt something sharp on the seat I was sitting on. Upon further investigation I noticed a nick in the shell! It's pretty small but goes right through the shell and I can see the colour black which I am assuming is the back of the shell. Now there doesn't appear to be any leak at all which is a good thing but before there is, could anybody recommend a product I could us to somehow patch this nick so no further damage can be done. Thanks for any help.
  6. Hi, I am having to replace the control panel on my D1. I'm in Canada and this time of the year the temps are sub zero. What type of caulking would work in those types of conditions to stabalize my panel? Any other tips in completing this task would be appreciated. Thanks.
  7. Have been having problems with the upper control panel not being responsive. The only button that seems to work is the temperature control and only sometimes. When I hold either pump 1 or 2 button for 10 seconds or longer and error message comes up and says"check water level, clean fiters, if this problem persists call for service" Just a bad upper control panel? Or is there something else it could be before I spend the 300 bucks on a new panel?
  8. The keypad is bad, if it a long skinny one with about 7 buttons. They used to be made by Spa Builders for D1 spas and also been a problem. I noticed the new ones are from Gecko which is better. http://www.easyspaparts.com/ this place has D1 parts. They are listed as Upper Controls. Just call them with serial number as spa Thanks so much for the advice and the link! Not just do they have the upper control pad but a detailed how to do it! Very much appreciated.
  9. Hi all, it's been quite awhile since I've been a visitor of this great forum. After many months reading and reading the posts on here I decided to purchase a used Dimension One Nautilus. LOVE IT! Lately though, it seems the control pad is sometimes not working although some functions on it will. For example, I won't be able to turn on either jet 1 or 2 but I will be able to change the temperature. Sometimes I cannot use any function on the keypad then again sometimes everything works fine. I know the jets are still working because it will run on it's own to cycle itself for filtration or at least I think that is why it's doing it. Is my keypad shot? Have I somehow programmed it to do this? Any help would be appreciated. ThanksDAVE
  10. You don't say if this is coming from a home owner or a dealer selling it used. The price seems very good but you still REALLY should see this in operation if its coming from a home owner regardless of price because the deal won't seem so great if you get it home and find the problems when its in your back yard. If this is coming from a dealer with something like a 60 day warranty then that's a different story and seeing it running isn't as important since you'll have a short warranty to fall back on. Thanks for all the comments. The tub is from a home owner who is a spa dealer by trade. This is his personal tub though. We agreed on price last night and are going to see the hot tub in action today and get a serial number to verify the age of the tub. Just a little closer to filling the hole in my deck! Thanks to spatech, hottublady and travellingspaguy for all your help!
  11. The serial number will have it. It may not be as obvious as a didgit in the number though. It will probably require a call to a dealer/manufacturer. Thanks Roger. We finalized price on the 2 year old D1 Nautilus last night and am going to see it in action this afternoon. The seller says it is buried in quite a bit of snow but a little snow won't hold me back from getting that serial number. I have read your posts over the time I've been on here and noticed that you prefer the D1 Nautilus. Hard to beat the D1 quality and the Nautilus has the seating my wife and I prefer without a doubt. Great for relaxing and a hellavu tub for entertaining. Thanks again for your help
  12. Is it possible to get the year the tub was manufactured from the serial number of the tub? Or is there another way? Thanks for your help gang!
  13. Hi all, After months of researching hot tubs with help from the good people on this site I have come down to what I think is the tub of our dreams. From what I've read on here, D1 quality can't be beat and they are as energy efficient as they come which is a necessity in our cold Canadian climate. Just want some advice on the asking price. It seems awfully fair to me but like I've depended on this site for hot tub advice, I'm also asking for advice on how the price seems to you folks out there. Thanks in advance for your help.
