  1. My backyard pool was just re-plastered a week ago and the pool looks great. I've been brushing it 3 times a day and because the ph continuously rises, I add acid daily. I live in Salt Lake City and cold winter conditions are on my doorstep. I have an automatic pool cover that will freeze up with the cold winter once it is closed. I've had the pool cover open since the pool was plastered, but I would like to close it for winter, mainly because of safety. I have a six year old and a 4 year old (plus their friends), so we are constantly monitoring the pool. Brushing does not seem to create as much dust now, but the ph still rises daily. I'm concerned that my plaster will be ruined due to the high ph and additional plaster dust when I open the pool in the spring. Are there any additional chemicals I could add before winterizing that could help the situation? What will happen to my plaster if I close my pool after only a week of brushing and balancing the ph? Thanks, Archman
