Being a novice to this but am willing to try to fix, where would I look for this "com cable" (on the outside unit), going into the house, or between the house and outside unit) ? BTW, THANKS for the response !

I have a Jandy Aqualink RS4 "inside the house" control that the SCROLL feature, i.e. date, temp., etc., on the face just went blank. The board inside the housing has a number of PCB# 6473-E stamped on it. (I have power to the "outside" control box and it appears to be operating fine) Is there any thing I should check or do you think I need to replace the board ? Also, this unit is about 8 years old so is there an updated board number that I should install instead of the above number board ? THANKS !
