We had our last hot tub in our house, in the basement. We had it in a corner, surrounded by cedar boards on two walls and the cieling. The other two walls were open to the rec-room. We installed a fan/vent over the tub, but found that we never used it.
We had this setup for about three years in that house (until we built a new house, and put a platinum II outside) and had no problems with moisture or anything. Our house did smell like hot tub, but everyone that came over said they liked the smell. It was not offensive.
I preferred having it in the basement to having a tub outside....

I have only had the tub for a week, what else can i say?
We have four kids...and are using the tub at least three times a day.
Can't believe i ever thought a water fall would be nice to have. Seems like a gimmick...but guess alot of spas come with them.

Further to my experiences with this tub...
I emailed a question to Alan on Saturday, and got a repsonse when i came to work Monday morning. Nothing wrong with that.

We just got our new Platinum II installed last night. We are very happy so far. We have owned another spa in the past (was a name brand one..forget what brand it was though) and we like this one even more.
The jets seem nice and powerful, it heated up very fast (we live in Manitoba Canada, and its pretty cool outside already), seats are confortable, and everything seems to work as expected.
Need to hook up the cover remover thing this weekend, and then its all done.
Based on what i have seen and felt so far, i would recommend this tub. The price was great too.
Spa Magic

My wife wanted to try spa magic in our new tub (we had another one in our old house) so i gave in.
We have been running it for about two weeks now, and am actually suprised that it seems to work.
I think the water smells a wee bit..but maybe it just smells different then i am used to. She (and the rest of the people who have been in) think its fine.
We use the spa every day, several times a day usually. 4 kids (3, 3, 8, and 11) so, lots of chances to get the water..umm..dirty.
