  1. Anyone replaced one of these? My kids (actually they deny it) overtightened the thing and wrecked it. So we cannot use one bank of jets. I just got a replace valve but not sure how to do it. Maybe from the inside? If anyone has done this please let me know! Thanks!
  2. So many options....jsut trying to put together the right combination...
  3. Ok..that sounds cool. Our kids are old enough to not go on the cover any more. Snow would be the only other concern. But doubt we would get so much on there that it woudl wreck it (before we clear it off). Should i get a floating blanket as well? Also need to choose a new lifter. No idea which one to go with. But would like one that keeps half the cover sticking up for shelter. Have unlimited space behind and around the tub, so that is not a concern either.
  4. Would you recommend any other options, or change what i have selected there? Or is it better to just call you. It does get pretty cold here in winter, and the tub is out in the open.
  5. is the cover i selected alot better then the costco one?
  6. I live on the US/Canada border. I would just ship it to North Dakota. WHich would be free shipping i believe.

  8. Actually meant the 5" to 4" one http://www.costco.ca/Browse/Productgroup.a...&search=spa cover&topnav=&Mo=0&s=1〈=en-CA&Nr=P_CatalogName:BCCA&N=4294961286&whse=BCCA&Dx=mode+matchallpartial&Ntk=Text_Search&Dr=P_CatalogName:BCCA&Ne=5000001+4000000&D=spa cover&Ntt=spa cover&No=0&Nty=1&Sp=S&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&s=1
  9. Am thinking of this one from Costco http://www.costco.ca/Browse/Productgroup.a...rtial&Nty=1 Want to order soon. Any thing not soo good about that one?
  10. Why on earth would 'we' care to do that? It's so funny..i have no idea what brand of hot tub you have. And if i did, would i go and research it to see if it has a bad history? WTF? OF course not.
  11. Your right..putting haha in the title was sorta asking for it heh. Anyways...thanks for info on parts...if i need anything i will try that out. I need to look up the size of my cover. I think my inside pieces are damaged and water logged. We had a few bad storms and damaged the cover a year or so ago. It seemd to go down hill after that (it had some holes in it from being blown off).
  12. It's the platinum II from Costco. Where are you located? What size is the cover?
  13. Haha...i do not need any parts. Cept a cover and that is generic. Thanks Firemedic and Roger..i will check both of those out.
  14. I have been gone for along time..got fed up with some of the stuff on here... Anyways...back then..some of the haters said see if i still like it in a year or two..well.we still love it. Anyways...covers..i do need a new cover. Ours has had it...and i think that is more our fault then Costco or Hydrospa. None the less, any recommendations on a replacement cover?
  15. I shocked it. Let all the jets run tell they shut off on their own. Cleaned the filters, then repeated the next day. this has made a big difference. I think this stuff was living in the set of jets we hardly ever use. (Kids stripped the threads on the valve for the water fall, so if we turn the jets on..it shoots straight up 8 feet or so).
  16. Yes..i do have a filter..two actually. My blower does not work very well. It did at first..but..we never use it...and i found that it hardly blows at all now. COuld this mean it is plugged with this crap?
  17. Something evil is in our spa. It started a few months ago. Little pieces of white gunk floating in the tub. I changed water and that did nothing. Whatever it is, it multiplies. We often take a little kids toy net into the tub to remove it all. In a day or two there will be more. IT almost plugs up my filters in a week. Any idea what this is, and what i can do to get rid of it? Its kinds soft..almost mushy but pretty thin stuff. Off white colored. Thanks for any help on this.
  18. So, as i said, my spa came with the styrofoam as well as the bubble insulation. I do however notice there is a gap between the shell of the spa and the side panels. About enough space to put my fingers in. This gap exists all the way around the tub. I bought a can of expanding foam (6 bucks) and filled that gap all the way around the spa except for the main access panal. Took me about 30 minutes to do and looks like it worked really well. The corners seemed to have the biggest gap. So..very easy to do, and should keep some hot air in, as well as reduce the air movement from wind that may have occured from the gap. I am not expecting to notice much of a change in bills, but not sure. Might test the spa in winter again if i can get the meter from work for the weekend.
  19. Pretty much one year old. MAybe a week or two more. Anyone else have experience adding insulation to the Platinum II?
  20. Strange, mine has a buble later that is reflective like what you have. Hmmm. Its a Platinum II from Costco. Did they add some insulation for Canada?
  21. Nice. Did your spa not have any of that stuff to begin with? Mine has something like that between the foam and the outside panels.
  22. I was in China not to long ago, and met up with some guys from Sweden. Anyways, i guess they all have sunas in their homes in sweden. Was pretty funny, we went into a suna at our hotel, i sat on the bottom seats, gasping for air, and the two other guys were on the top seats talking away like it was nothing. I thought i was going to die, but did not give in. Finally...it was time to jump into the closed pool (closed cause it was their 'winter'). We did that, then back into the sauna...repeated this torture three times. This story is way funnier when i tell it in person..but..sorta along the same lines as the hot/cold stuff.
  23. Walk to the tub in -20..thats funny..just what we do all winter (across the deck into the tub). Sure feels good to get in after that. My kids are crazy, they like to jump out of the tub into the snow, role around, then run back in... i have not tried it yet..maybe this winter...
  24. I am just fed up that is all. Yeah..maybe i was out of line posting this thread..... I think it got the advice i need anyway, so, maybe its time for me to leave this site again until i have something to ask.
