To Otis Skywalker: Just so i understand, i need to press the temp button then simultaneously press the light button to get it to "St"...right?.....Does EC hurt the system in any way? Also how do i take trhe filter out to clean it?...the basket appears to be stuck

I have a spa with "balboa" controls. The panel window reads "Ec", and i just can't get the temp up. The control panel has 4 buttons..jets/blower/temp/light....Even though i use the temp button to turn the temp all the way to 100, it still has not gotten hot....it used to be hotter....what am i doing wrong
