  1. I know I'm just a newbie here and to hot-tubing in general, but I am a member of sever other forums. I though I would throw out a suggestion to organize this forum into more general topics such as: 1. Buying a new spa/reviews 2. New owner questions 3. Repair/maintenance 4. water chemistry This way, a browser could more easily find/post topics of interest What do you think?
  2. Good question! I like to turn mine down to about 95 in the summer (that's as cool as I can get it without turning off the power). Now that the weather is starting to cool off here in Colorado, I've turned it back up to 101 for now. When it gets cold, I'll go back to 104 (that's as hot as it will go). I use the EcoOne system, so can't comment on chlorine, bromine, dichlor etc. and the effect of water temps on those chemicals. Jim is much more of an expert on that.
  3. I'll be glad to share what I can. Yes, we're in CS, and yes, we got it from Spa Palace. They've been ok...not too bad, but not real impressive either. Seems like they do all they can to get out of doing warranty work. There have been a few issues with the spa, but overall it's been ok. SP did not mount the ozone generator properly (laid in on the floor instead of mounting it on the wall or a support. A check valve failed and flooded the ozone generator. SP wanted a lot of money for a ho-hum replacement, so I ordered one off the web. I really like the new one (Del Platinum Eclipse) A couple of the jets got stuck in the closed possition, but that may be due to our water - high calcium (we're east of the Springs) I use the Eco-One system (http://xxx.ecoonespaxxx) so I don't get chems from SP. I either order them online or get them from a place in Manitou Springs. I replaced my dead ozone generator last month, and that along with the Eco-One is all the chems I need. I do use spa shock if there is a high bather load (guests). I did most if the electrical myself (bought the breaker box, condiut, wire, dug the trench from the house to the pad.) All the electrician did was actually hook up the wire to the main panel and the spa itself. Don't remember who I used, but his price was kinda high for what he did, so I can't really recommend him anyway. Feel free to send a private message if you like.
