  1. Ok, I pulled the plugged and got the J-345, It comes tomorrow I have been reading about the temp override deal and I am concerned my tub might not be warm enough. I suppose I should wait and see. I had a 04/05 Hot Spot by HS. All I had to do was hold the + button in once it was at 104 and it would go to 106. I take it that newer tubs will no longer will do this. Are there any J-345 owners who have problems with water not being warm enough. Thanks 5444
  2. Trying to get the best bang for my buck. Sundance 780 chelsee Cash price 7546 OTD with ozone, cover lifter, steps, start up chemicals, and delivery. No service fee for 1st year of ownership. Does this sound good? I was thinking of asking for 250 of in store credit for future chemicals and filters, but I want to be fair, if this is a really good deal I don't want to insult him by asking for more. Thanks again, and this is a awesome website. 5444
  3. Depends on which series you are looking at the 780 series and 880 series has a solid abs bottom on them so no critters can get in them also a solid synthetic cabinet the 680 series has noches at the bottom so the pumps and equipment can breath. What model are you looking at let me know and I can tell you what to do so you dont have to worry about it? I'm looking at the 880 optima, the 880 majesta and possibly the jacuzzi 345. Thanks again for your help. 5444
  4. Has anyone had any problems with mice in sundance spas and the full foam. Am I just begging for trouble, I live in a wooded area and I know I have mice outside and especially around the foundation. If I purchase a full foam spa will it be a Hotel for all the little critters or are the sundance spas fairly resistant to freeloaders. Once again thanks for all reply's. 5444
  5. I live in the midwest. The dealer is trustworthy to my knowledge. They have quite a few stores but they have only been in my area for 2.5 years. After talking with a salesmen (who turned out to be the store manager) I felt relatively comfortable with him if I did purchase from them. I just want to get the best deal possible. With the current financial crisis, I want to save as much as possible. 5444
  6. Okay I have been looking at all sorts of tubs. I got a few prices today and was wondering what you guys thought. 880 Optima or Cameo by Sundance, delivery, cover, start up chemicals, coverlift, corona discharge ozone and steps for 8999.00 plus tax. Then majesta or Altamar by sundance with same options for 8299.00 plus tax. Also there is no service charge for the first year of ownership then its 65.00 a visit. I also stopped by a D1 and Nordic dealer. I was only able to get a price on a floor model 2006 Nordic rendevous, 5500.00 plus tax, I guess a new on was a 1000 more I believe. But ironically the Nordic began to leak as I was checking it out. So whatcha think, ANY INPUT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
  7. Looking for any info on Emerald spas. Quality, reliability, any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks 5444
  8. My father and I installed mine last Sat for 300.00. I think it would of been a little cheaper but all menards had was 50 ft of 6/3 outdoor cable which was 150.00 I believe non outdoor would of been cheaper and easier to move. We also bougt a few thing we didn't use, but I'd rather have it and not need it, then need it and not have it. This was just parts from the main breaker to the GFCI 50 amp breaker box outside. I still need to purchase cable and conduit from the GFCI to the tub. Also the 50 map GFCI are rather pricey, I'd give you the price but can't find the receipt. The 50 amp breaker for the main was only 8.00. I think it was missed priced. I hope this helps. Oh it also took us 8 hrs. I'm sure if I had another one to do it go faster but I'd rather do it right the first time 5444
  9. Yes I have, they have been around for a long time and I believe they are made in Bettendorf Iowa, or maybe assembled there. If you look at there web site I believe there spas are used in certain hotel chains. I use to work in Davenport IA, and have been in there store. 5444
  10. Does anybody know anything about LA spas. On my trip to Peoria I went to 2 other dealers and found LA spas. They look nice.
  11. Larrys1 and spa seekers, if you guys wouldn't mind, what did you end up paying, and spa seeker did it include freight or was it extra since you live further away than normal. sorry for the run on sentence 5444
  12. I guess I should explain further. I drove 30 miles one way to check out a spa and there are signs everywhere that they sell Arctic spas, but no spas, and a kid behind the counter giving weird reasons as to why they do not have any. Now I realize 30 miles is nothing but its 60 miles round trip and gas is not cheap, especially when it was a wasted trip because I was unable to accomplish my intended goal of evaluating a Arctic tub in the flesh. I guess I am disappointed. I was really leaning toward Arctic, but my gut is telling me to shy away because of the dealer. The real kicker is I told myself that before I go maybe I should call this dealer to see if he still sells Arctic, And I said to my self "self" surely they will have a salemen that I can talk to like every other spa dealer I have been to. Oh well, I should of known. By the way Spaseekers, where did you purchase your new tub from. 5444
  13. I am also looking at the summit, but I am not sure if my wife and I would like a lounger, so maybe the frontier. We have not wet tested any tubs yet, hopefully soon. The problem I'm having is I called Arctic today and talked to Karen. She told me that the dealer I spoke to isn't really a Arctic dealer anymore according to them. I really didn't get a good explanation from either Arctic or D and J spa as to why there are no tubs in the store. I left a message with the dealer today but got no reply. The next closest dealer is Libertyville which is practically in Wisconsin. When I did talk to the dealer a few days ago he said his favorite and most sold was the summit. Karen from Arctic did say that the dealer is still servicing all of their spas with good service, just not currently selling any I guess. She did say that they would sell one to D and J if I wanted, but I really wanted to test one out prior to purchasing. Is this your first spa and if not what did you have before. What made you decide on Arctic. I am really skeptical on the Arctic now and wondering if I should start researching a different tub. 5444
  14. I'm currently shopping for a new hot tub. I did have a Hot Spot as my first tub. We were not very happy with it. I've been looking at Bull frog, LimeLight, Jacuzzi, Nordic, D1 and Sundance. But most recently I been looking at Arctic and have been pleasantly surprised with the quality and with what other people have to say about them. Not a lot of negative comments. Well I trying to educate my self on why one tub would be better, more expensive or cheaper than the other. I cannot find any info on what brand /type of pump Arctic uses on their tubs. I've been all over their web site and cannot find anything. I.E. Hot Spring tubs use Wave master pumps, its right there on their web site and literature. I have been reading on this forum and maybe this should be directed toward Tom from Arctic. Well I just wired the house and the concrete is being poured on Oct 6th. I'm also a little concerned that I drove 28 miles to West Peoria to see an Arctic tub and the dealer had nothing but Nordic tubs in the show room and no salesmen in the store. I did talk to a salesmen over the phone from the dealer and he did seem honest. Well if anyone has any info regarding Arctic tubs please reply to this post. Your info will be greatly appreciated. Oh and this website is great. 5444
