  1. On the advice of people much smarter than me in this forum and others, I went to check out the HS Grandee at the only dealer in my city (Ottawa, Ontario, Canada). I was quoted their sale price of $11,495 (Edit: NOT $10,495) + 5% sales tax for the tub, delivery, set up, cover, steps, GFCI & starter chemicals. Other than possibly covering the tax, the salesman said the price was not negotiable. I somehow doubt that, but I was curious if this is a fair price? The other option is the Jacuzzi J-365 for $8,700 Cdn all in (w same stuff as above). Is the Grandee worth the extra $3Gs? Thanks all.
  2. For what it's worth (now that it's a done deal), I was at the same dealer in Ottawa last Saturday and we were given an all-in price of $11,970 from one of the most annoying salesman I have dealt with. I think this price included all the same features you mention plus a $1,700 salt system. The company has a great rep so you should not be dissapointed. Enjoy!

    Help!

Since when is $9600 mid-range???? There are a lot of premium made spas from very reputable manufacturers out there for that much or less. I'm looking for some help and advice here, so rather than debate the semantics of "mid-range", could you please offer up some brands and models that you would recommend we consider? In case I haven't provided enough info on our criteria, we are looking for a tub for our family's use (parents + 3 small children) vs entertaining friends. Our budget is $10K on the high end but I not adverse to paying less for a better quality tub from a "reputable manufacturer" (I do understand there is a somewhat of a trade-off between price and quality and I am looking for best bang for my buck). Warranty is important but a company that will be around for the life of their warranty is critical (my concern with Pinnacle / Premium Leisure). We live in Canada so insulation is obviously important. -
  4. We are looking to buy our first hot tub and the choices seem overwhelming. They all look shiny and pretty but there are obviously some models to avoid. We are looking for a well-made, reliable, "mid-range" tub. My wife really liked the Pinnacle Olympia ( www.pinnaclespas.com ) that we looked at tonight. It looks good to me in terms of features and parts but I can't find any info, opinions or ratings on it. I have figured out that it is made by Premium Leisure, who bought the assets of Hydro Spa but that's about it. Also, the website makes no mention of their warranty, which really does not sit well with me. Any input/recommendations/advice would be appreciated very much by me and my family...and my bank account which doesn't want to make a $9,600 mistake. Cheers JSS
