Depends on the manufacturer. My Viking fiberglass pool (love it!) Had pea gravel. French drain depends on the slope going to the pool. If in doubt, installl the drain. it can't hurt. Make sure you see the particular pool model before you settle on one. The only complaint I have is the width of my pool at the deep end....

I had a problem last year with mice chewing on my solar cover (it is stored in a shed) Any products i can use to discourage them? I was thinking about leaving moth balls laying around it . Thanks
