I had the exact same problem. But my whole pool turned brown and then graysish. I drained the pool to completely empty. Then I sprayed it with lemon juice. Which I quickly ran out out and due to the lemon shortage here in Canada I could no purchase more. So I used lime juice. I put it in a spray bottle and sprayed the entire pool. No wiping necessary. If you wipe your wasting your lime. I hosed the pool down and drain the water again. Then filled it up and we were back to normal. I tried several chemicals and the cleaners make it worse. The PH seems to go down and the Chlorine goes sky high. Hope this helps;
