Hello Susan, I am considering a Vegas model from San Juan. I am wondering if you could let me know some information about your Vegas model pool: 1. The depth at the deepest part of pool, how deep is the actual waterlevel (after water inside pool)? I am 5ft 7 inch tall, and wonder how deep the water level is (deepest end). I wouldn't mind the pool depth to be up to my chin (face) area. 2. Also, I love the width, is it as wide as it sounds, with alot of swim area? 3. Is the pool medium, large, very large? 4. The steps at both ends, do they take alot of space from length of pool, or does it matter, since pool is large? 5.Also, from shallow end to deep end, is the pool more deep than shallow? (I am 5 ft 7 inches tall, and have two sons plus husband who are 6 ft 3 inches tall. Is the pool too shallow for us?) 6. Do you have white color fiberglass? If so, please about having white, if it is ok, or should get color? Sorry about all the many questions, but everytime I see a picture of the Vegas pool, they look so elegant, plus I love steps at both ends, and the width. I worry mostly about how deep it is, and if there is more deep in the pool than shallow area. Thank you much, Brenda

Hello, I am from the Fort Lauderdale area, and have contacted several contractors, in West Palm Beach area, plus in the Broward county area. I recently had several fiberglass independent dealers send me quotes by emails: Leisure & Viking pools - $30,000-$37,000 Sun had the lowest costing fiberglass pool quotes:(david jones-dealer-west palm beach) $24,000-35,000 San Juan : $27,000-$40,000 Another fiberglass pool to consider is, Aloha fiberglass pools, and they have dealers all over fla. I think the Leisure and Viking pools the most expensive from my quotes, but they are very nice pools. Leisure is my favorite, but some of the Sun pools are nice such as Cayman & St Lucia pool models. I love the San Juan pools, but the dealer in Broward county informed me that I have to pay for his gas, even though his website stated 'free estimates' (already speaking money talk with me!)..... I have a question, do you know who is a good fiberglass dealer or installer in the Fort Lauderdale area? Thank you BJD

I have been installing fiberglass pools for 25 years. In order to give you a decent recommendation on who to choose for a manufacturer it all depends on what area you live in.

I'm located in Southeastern Florida, Hollywood, Florida, and considering a Fiberglass pool, and would like to know a very good fiberglass pool contractor/dealer. Any suggestions? Any suggestion would be much appreciated!

Hello, I have been reading the threads in the 'San Juan Or Viking' thread, on the 'Pool and Spa Forum-online community'. I am interested in having a fiberglass pool installed in my Hollywood Florida home backyard next summer 2009. "Waterbear" you mentioned that you are from Florida, and had a San Juan fiberglass pool installed in your florida area. You did not mention what location in Florida. I would appreciate it if you could respond and let me know who was your San Juan fiberglass pool installer? I live in Broward county, Hollywood, Florida, and am very interested in finding a very good, and reliable, honest, pool contractor/dealer to install a San Juan fiberglass pool in my Hollywood home backyard. I have contacted the San Juan dealer in my Broward county area, but he will not come to my home until I am more serious. Also, if he comes for an inspection, it is not free either, since he has already informed me that I have to purchase his gasoline for this inspection. Every time I call for another San Juan fiberglass pool dealer, in nearby counties, they send me back to the one who will not give me a free inspection (I really dont know what to think about having to pay for an inspection -gas). He already sounds unfriendly, and trying to get money out of me. I have mentioned this to him also, but he wont respond, so I guess, he will really stick me for more money if I want a San Juan pool installed in my area. I have often wondered if it is necessary to go through this San Juan dealer, in order to have one of their pools installed in my back yard. Could I find another fiberglass pool installer, and have them purchase a San Juan pool from the San Juan manufacturer factory, plus install it in my backyard, or am I dedicated to have this San Juan dealer install it? I love the San Juan fiberglass pools, and also have also researched and have interest in the Sun, and Viking pools also. Have any ideas? Thank you

Now dealers and contractors are a different story altogether. My contractor, who was an authoized San Juan dealer, and who has recently been dropped by San Juan because of complaints against himand just picked up Viking (!) has not finished my pool in 1.5 years! He made the front page of our local paper today (Sunday) because of numerous complaints against him and poor workmanship. (I cholse not to be in the newspaper artice since he has very recently been trying to rectify some of the problems with my pool installation.) He was the only San Juan dealer in my area and since it is an assigned territory I had no other options if I wanted a San Juan pool! There are several lawsuits against him right now and there is going to be a hearing next Thursday in my county that will decide if he will be able to pull any new permits to install pools. There have been some compliants filed against him with the State licensing board for pool contractors. It has been a nightmare. In my case the pool was installed properly but there are problems with the plumibing and electrical and things were not done according to the contract. Eqiupment was substituted in the lighting and he had to break away part of the new deck that he poured to get access to pipes for the water features that got buried in the cement! The deck is still not repaired! I have not yet passed final inpection. Unfortunately, San Juan's only response to all the complaints about him was to drop him as a dealer. This contractor was checked out. I looked at several pools he installed and talked to prevoius customers. All seemed fine. Something happened since the time I signed the contracts since all of the other complaintents all signed contracts with him after I did. My problems with him started about 2 months after signing the contracts. I do not know what happened in his personal life to cause what seemed like a reputable builder to go so flakey but it just goes to show that there are no guarentees when getting a pool built. Am I sorry I chose a San Juan pool...no. Did I get the pool and equipment I paid for...no. Do I think this builder can correct all the problems.....no. Do I think I am going to have to resort to legal channels to solve the problems....yes. So that is where I stand today.

Hello, I live in Hollywood Florida. I am located between Boca Raton, and Miami, on the South eastern coast of Florida. I would love to have a fiberglass pool installed in my backyard. The manufacturers would probably be a selected choice of Sun pools, or San Juan, Leisure, Viking fiberglass pools. Could someone please advise me about a good and honest contractor or dealer in my area regarding any of these fiberglass pools? Thank you
