  1. Comparing last years utility bill (same number of days and rates) to this years (same period late Jun to Jul) my electric bill increased about $50. I can only attribute that to running the pool filter and dedicated cleaner pump. I was running my filter 24/7 and my cleaner about 12 h/day. I have since learned that I should only run my DE filter about 12 hours/day and I have cut back the cleaner to 3 hours/day. My next billing cycle is late Jul to Aug so I have some weeks before I'll know what impact cutting my filter time in half has. But a neighbor with a salt water pool but a sand filter that runs 24/7 also had about the same increase - about $50/per month. We are located in southern Illinois and power is provided by AmerenIP Hope this helps some.
  2. Is the filter screen clean located in cleaner hose? Did the pressure release spring break? The line filter is clean. Not sure what you mean by "Did the pressure release spring break?" can you amplify??? I'm thinking I'll buy a few new O-Rings and see what happens.
  3. I purchased a pool from a local Leisure Pool vendor here in southern Illinios, turns out over the winter he sold the business yet did not notify his customers. I learned of this when I tried calling him for my "free opening" this past May. When I wasn't getting any return phone calls I drove to the office. Lot empty and a FOR SALE sign on the door. Needless to say I was bummed. So I called Leisure Pools home office in San Antonio to learn he now works for them. After leaving him a voice mail he did return my call and told me me who he sold the business too and provided his name and phone. Turns out the new owner wasn't very responsive. After 6 weeks he finally gave up and told me to contact a local Pool and Spa guy who would handle my pool. The guy he subed the work too was able to fix and get my pool running. The pool wasn't properly winterized and I had cracked pipes, it took 6 weeks to repair, then the Turbo cell wouldn't generate any chlorine, turns out the independent pool guy found a bad Flow Sensor that was damaged either during install or when the line froze. While I like the product I'm shocked by their lack of customer support after the sale. BTW I bought their Roman 28 So far I'm out about $150 for all the stuff I was supposed to get like the start up chemicals, I'm still missing some of the Phantom Pool Cleaner parts and one of the seat jets isn't working correctly. I'd be cautious and want to know how long the dealer has been in business and check with your local BBB.
  4. I'm no expert but the same thing happened to me, I talked to a local pool sales/service store and they said "shocking" is called the "nuclear option" - meaning if shocked correctly nothing survives. However if in doubt (after cleaning all filters etc) I guess you could shock it one more time.
  5. My first post, we purchased a Leisure Pools USA one piece fiberglass pool last fall (28' Roman). The dealer installed Hayward pumps/filters. In the last couple of weeks the Phantom Pool Clearer Quick Connect has started blowing pressuirized water from around the O-Ring. I have re-installed and set the pressure using the included gauge, and have inspected the male/female fittings along with the O-Ring and can not figure out why water would blow by the O-Ring. Before I contact my dealer I'd like to know what the problem is and if it's something I can easily fix. Cheers Tom USAF Retired PS: Here's a photo of our pool Pool
