  1. I am dealing with a similar problem. My hot tub is at my second home which I only visit on the weekends and vacations. I was glad I bought the Arctic Chiller so the filter works at a lower temp. I was leaving the tub at 84 when I left on Sunday and turn it up when I get back Friday nights. For the past few week I've been leaving it at 100 and it is nice to have that thing ready to go when I show up. Plus, if I lose power, it will take longer to cool off. We are in the single digits already!

  2. Go through your wires again. You hooked up the electricity yourself. White on white, etc. Double and triple check all the way back to the main panel. Check your ground continuity and also assure you have not bonded neutral to ground anywhere. Sub-panels must have grounds and neutral on different busses in the panels. This is dangerous and shouldn't be taken lightly. Your life depends on this. Stray voltage is happening somewhere.

  3. Look up Clark Synthesis Transducer and you'll see what is driving the sound.

I really love mine and listen to the tub even when I'm not in it.

The connector sux and has a cap which leans on the jack. This sometimes causes a grounding issue.

The brochure said a 300W amp, mine is only 65 per channel. I have not looked into it yet, but I will.

No speakers to turn to turd later on!!!

  4. After two months, I have no regrets buying mine. I haven't had to put chlorine in it, not once. I'll probably never assume the cost of Onzen by not having to purchase chlorine, but I don't have the hassle either.

Relax and enjoy your high quality hot tub knowing that you didn't by from Costco. Do a search on this forum about big box store purchases, you'll see.

  5. Waterboy is correct about the AquaTremor! HolyKrap what a nice sound. I don't have the two external speakers, but the two transducers mounted to the shell are enough for me. I listen to my hot tub when I'm not even using it! I only wish it had four transducers. I have a Tundra LSE. I don't think I have a seat with the jet layout like the lower left corner on Pete's. That looks like an excelent place to park for the evening.

  6. I originally wanted the lounge. We are going to be using the spa with the neighbors, who happen to be in-laws and our best friends. We wanted everyone to have a seat so we bought the tub w/o the lounge.

I can still lounge pretty good without the lounger, though!

  7. I got my delivery of a Tundra LSE last month. We shot the works because we didn't want to second think later and wish we would have gotten such and such. My favorite features so far are not part of the SE package. Aquatremor turns the whole tub shell into a speaker. I was working on the new deck and listening to my hot tub! The Arctic Chiller allows me to not lose my filtration when I turn the tempreture down when I leave for the week. The tub is at my second home and I only get to use it on the weekends. The Therapy Air is sometimes too bubblie/splashy. It is cool to have the cool air coming by when you turn the temp down. The deluxe Northern Lights is nothing special, but I have nothing to compare it to. It is just a different sequence when you push the button: On-Red-Off-On-Green-Off-On-Blue.... The LED's are probably the best part of that package. The website lists the Forever Floor as an upgrade. I wanted the Forever Floor because I have the tub on top of crushed stone and stone dust. The included Onzen system seems to be worth having. When I first started looking for a spa, I was looking at adding the Peak Ozone system. Then Arctic came up with the Onzen for this year and I'm glad my tub has it. Your skin is really soft from the salt and it generates its own chlorine. Double warranty removes the risk of this new component.

Ask yourself if you think you'll regret not getting any of the upgrades and then ask if you think the value outweighs the regret.

  8. I guess it comes down to comfort if all things are equal. Like Roger says, it is a personal decision.

I made my decision and had to go out and find a dealer. Only one was in my deliverable area and this was just barely. He had me by the short hairs and knew it, but didn't take advantage of the situation. I lucked out!

Note to forum administrators, This board is the best! Nobody really trashes anybody else and there is a mutual respect. Very comforting.

  9. Reliability (ie. repairs or breaking)?. NA-No problems in the two weeks I've had it.

    Durability? NA-I have a 10 year warranty(5 is standard)

Comfort? 5-7 seats and I use them all. I even stretch out over the extra Monsoon jet or sit right in front of it for a chest massage.

    Energy consumption? NA-Don't know yet

Clean water maintenance? 4- so far it's been easy to correct and maintain. I gave a 4 because I'm still a nOOb.

Jets & customizing jets via controls? 5+-I maxed out on available jets. Multiple functions makes for a good variety. Three pumps makes it a bit too much power. Even the extra seats have become favorites.

Customer support? 5- I had a leaky jet on delivery. They say check the back for leaks because of all the transport vibrations. The dealer drove 2 1//2 hrs to re-seat the jet, the very day I notified him! The other part of support, Tom in this forum is invaluable.

Appearance (good looks or bling factor)? 5- I got the Moonscape shell. It has flakes of copper/silver/quarts and is very attractive. The western cedar is also real asthetic.

Quality for the price? 5- I bought this spa for the quality of the components and workmanship. Top notch motors, poly tubing, solid valves. I am 2 1/2 hrs from the dealer, I don't need to have any problems.

And just to pinpoint areas and people differences - please comment if you care to on:

    State or province? New Hampshire

    Model? Tundra LSE

Average winter outdoor temp? 4.3 F

Average usage? 3 X per week. We are only there on the weekends.

    Thanx! :D

  10. I turned down the tub before I left this weekend and the chiller kicked in. The heat exchanger is mounted behind the fan. It also turns on the therapy air. I left before it brought the temp down. I would think the chiller will mount on any standard panel.

  11. One of the things I love about this forum, Nobody really trash talks anybody elses stuff. There are reps and dealers and techs, all have a mutual respect for eachother and this forum.

I am a fellow consumer and wish I could answer your request better. I've only owned an Arctic for one week. But I am in northern New Hampshire, 30 miles from Quebec, and purchased my tub with the same criteria you mentioned.

  12. Looks awesome !!!! That is the exact Arctic Summit I have on order. How is the new neck jets that Arctic came out with ?? My dealer did not have water in the Summit with the new neck jets. Any tips on the Onzen setup ? I ordered the Forever Flex cabinet with mine, but seeing yours with the cedar cabinet...it looks great....maybe I should have gotten it.

Noticed that your cover is flat on the side of the spa. I got one of those lifters that when up, it is like a big wall on one side. That is the one thing that I think I will not like. So you just slide it off the side...huh.

The neck jet is a bit splashy, but still gives you a good therapy. I turn the diverters down a little and it's not too bad. (If you direct them into your ears, will water spew out your mouth like a fountain? )

I bought the same cover shelf with my Tundra! I have a mountain view on that side and blocking it with a "Wall-of-Cover" was not an option. I still slide the cover onto the deck during the day so I can see Mount Stratford.
