Richard, So I'm guessing we could use the Puck through out the day and top up with Stabilized or non stabilized Di clor depending on how our CYA Level is at night to boost, Our pool is old and dont forget its in Turkey so there are very few mod cons here, no feeder systems or skimming baskets. We do have return troff (which acts as our skimmer I guess) would we put the tablets in these? or would the be better put in the balance tank? What sort of quantity would we typically use in normal circumstances (with a balanced pool) say p.h. 7.4, Clor 1.5, CYA 30 T.A. 120 Thanks once again, Marc

Richard, Thanks, Thanks and Thanks again. your observations on the stabilizer level have been noted, 30 will be our target. Our intention is to manage the clorine with a manual application of 3.5kg of dry 56% Diclor? granuals applied after sunset. (Should we need to top up during the day - maybe due to lots of bathers what is the best method? granuals into the Balance tank? Tablets? we have been seperating Clorine and PH Down, should these be at different times or does it not matter? My issue now is shoud i raise the CYA with stabilized clorine (over 90kg - 200lbs needed to achieve 30ppm CYA) or should I try and seek out Cyanuric Acid here in Turkey, we have spoken to 4 pool "experts" and none of them have ever used Cyanuric Acid when starting a pool from scratch!!!From my reading here on the forum I just don't understand that and so it does not instill confidence in me. I will continue to run our PH at 7.0 until the TA is acceptable which will also bring the balance a little closer to acceptable. We have 3 supposed pool "experts" coming tommorrow is there anything I need to know to get this pool right or do you think Ive covered the bases. Hi everyone. Have been reading the forum for a while and hope I have some idea of the answer but there are so many experts on here that I couldnt resist in posting to ensure. We have just drained and filled our site pool 600 Tons (600,000ltrs) the local pool man advised a 6kg (13lb) Clor (56%) and 4k P.H. Down for the first treatment to get the levels right (No other chemicals were added). We decided not to add the PH down as it was reading 7.2 consistently for 3 days before chemicals were added so just added the 6kg (13lbs) of Stabilised Clorine 56% The folowing morning our test revealed 0.6 clor and within hours it was 0, P.H. was stable at around 7.4 I had an Aquacheck test from my spa that I used and it revealed TA of 240+ we have since added 160lts (340lbs) of Liquid acid to reduce the TA (It seems to of come down to about 180-200) and in the process lowered the PH to 6.8-70. It also showed 0ppm Stabilizer Last night we decided to add 9lbs of Clor 56% at 8am the reading was 2.0 at 10am it was 1.0 and 11am it was 0.0 ph (7.4) Reading here I think I have 2 problems. 1st and foremost the FC I beleive that as we have no stabilizer we need to ad Cyanuric Acid to increase this to approx 80ppm (big pool lots lots and lots of sun (Turish Aegean coast) to do this I beleive would take 100lbs (45Kg), Im cot sure of the best way to introduce, tunnel, spread, pool? Then there is the TA, we can either run the pool at 7.0 and bring down gradually or continue adding Generic Acid at 50kg for 3 days (total 150kg - 300lbs) Also as the pool is under used at the moment and with new water what should the levels be such that the pool should be closed (0.0 clor is this dangerous?)
