  1. Any help is appreciated. (about 20,000 gal, in ground ) Opening pool for season. Topped off with well water. All looked fine. Shocked pool and within hours it started to go brownish green. Stained the liner and stairs badly. Got progressively worse. Used Pool Treat Stain - (oxalic acid) and water cleared up quickly. Stains gone. Life was good. Looked good for a couple days. Tested, clorine low, ph low alky low, (as I expected they would be low) Started adding ph up and Pool went right back to brownish green. QUICKLY. I'm talking about COFFEE color here. Ok, weak coffee. I am thinking the well is introducing metal (iron probably). I also read somewhere that some shock substance can cause that reaction with well water. If so, it makes sense that the oxalic clears it up. So, my question to people smarter than I (that is a large group). Thoughts on what is happening and why. And how to fix it. Thanks in advance
