  1. I don't see why it would be an issue. As long as you do it correctly it should be fine. People seem to get way too concerned about spa wiring. I ran all of my own conduit, wire, gfi, etc. I have had zero issues. I could not really give a crap if it's to code or not because I know that it was done right & works correctly. Sometimes the code requirements are just BS. I would probally just use a simple disconect box & run a longer wire from there to your spa. Good luck.
  2. Can you smell ozone? If you can then it's working. I'm not sure about yours, but on my ozonator there is a small slot where you can see the light. You may want to look at yours when it's dark. It also depends on how you hooked it up, does it only run durring the preset filtering or whenever the jets are on?
  3. I would agree to this. I just wanted to be done with this spa & this was the cheapest & best solution for me. I live in Las Vegas so there isn't much moisture to worry about. I think the OSB will be fine for my needs. I bought this spa used & the previous owner had it sitting on pea gravel in the middle of his yard. The spriklers really took there toll on the skirting. Now if it had been placed on concrete away from the spriklers then the wood might of still been good. Whatever you decide, have fun & good luck!
  4. I would say that if your spa is outside & it gets wet then stay away from the wood. It's only a matter of time before you will have to re do it again & cedar & red wood aint cheap! Besides like you said, you are not too schooled in carpently. My spa skirting was trashed due to the weather & my dog both! I wanted a cheap way to re do it so I bought 2 sheets of the OSB type board with a panel look to it on the finished side. I cut it to fit & painted it. It cost me $19 dollars a sheet so it was preatty cheap too. Yes it's wood but it is very simple to cut & screw it on. It's also made for outdoor aplications like sheds & such. Just a thought.
  5. I am by no means a spa or pool expert, I do not have a pool but I do have a spa & the flex pipe is leaking at several of the glue joints. I have replaced them with a small piece of rigid PVC & then connected back to the flex with a coupler. My personal oppinion is that the manufacturer didn't apply enough glue at the joints!!! sundance spa by the way. As far as the flex actually coming apart, I have not seen that.
  6. Anyways I am not a spa expert by ant means but I would think that it may be a failed gasket/o-ring or posibly fragments of something in the pump housing. Maybe someone else could give you a better answer.
  7. I sprayed bug spray inside of the skirting on my spa. Not the aresol raid type, the ortho pump & spray type. Anyways, I have had no issues & it keeps the bugs away. I also like the idea of using the product that the ants bring back to the colony as helios recomended. Years ago we had our spa drained for the winter, in the spring after it was filled & the jets were turned on thousands of ants shot out of the jets! They made their winter home in there! What a mess!!!

  10. Thanks guys! you were both correct. Thanks again.
  11. Good idea! once again, thanks for the response & info.
  12. I'm really not sure? I purchased the spa used & this is how it was when I first hooked it up. Well, maybe you are correct that the #2 pump is a single speed pump, I just thought that since the others were two speed it would make sense for this one to be as well. Maybe not though?? Thanks for the reply.
  13. 1998 sundance montego 750 on the jets #1, It has both low & high speed. on the jets #2, It only has high speed. On the air, It has both low & high speed. This makes me think that the (jets #2) are not functioning correctly. Shouldn't there be a low & high speed just like the other jets & the air? If so then how would I go about fixing this? There isn't a button that says low/high on any of the jets/air. They just go on low with 1 push & high on the 2nd push. The #2 jets just go to high on the 1st push. Thank you, Rich
  14. I got it taken care of. I bought the new sensor from a company called Spa & Pool Source that I found online. They had vey detailed directions of how to replace it as well.
  15. Hello, I have a sundance montego spa, the digital display reads 118 degrees & then it shuts down & reads (---) I am leaning towards a bad tempurature sensor. Could somebody please tell me where the sensor is located & what the easiest way of getting at it is? Would this be a bad temp sensor or a bad hi limit sensor? The model of the panel has the following on it. Model Sentry 750/850 Also where is the best place to buy a new sensor? Thank you, Rich
