I plan to move my hot tub over about a foot in my back yard to accomodate a trailer I just bought.
Anyway, the tub is currently sitting on the sidewalk blocks. (the ones that are 2 X 3 feet or so). And these blocks just sit on the ground. The ground isn't exactly 100% level and we have some plywood sheets underneath one side of the tub to level it out a bit.
Since I have to move it, I was trying to get advice as to anything better to put underneath it.
One sales guy recommended building a little base out of pressure treated 2 X 4's. The base can be shimmed down to make it level once it sits on the ground, and the hot tub on top of that.
Also, I'm hearing gravel may be a good idea as well.
What are some people's thoughts? Is the 2 X 4 base I good plan? What would work best? or what should I not do?
by the way, I live in Western Canada, so we get ALL types of weather, including snow.
thanks
