  1. First, did you replace the check valve? Sometimes the ozone, over time will cause the check valve to stick and not allow the ozone into the water, and eventually burn up the ozonator. Next, besides the light, there are test strips that check for ozone. Ozone only has a 20 minute risdual in the tub water and I do not know how accurate they are. The best way I can tell is by the smell. When ozone is running, the bubbles have a very distinct smell (like the smell after a lightning strick that was close by) Its like a super fresh air smell, and if you get a deep whiff of it, it may effect your breathing (takes your breath away) Yes, the new unit came with a new check valve, and new hose. Will have to give it the sniff test tonight when I get home. Thanks, Bob
  2. I just replaced a Balboa ozonator with the Del MCD-50. I'm wondering how one is supposed to tell if it is working or not. When It's plugged in the green LED lights, buthow is one supposed to know if it is actually producing ozone? Bob

  4. Come on some one has got to have an opinion on this !!! Bob
  5. Currently my ozonator is not working, and am waiting for the new one to arrive. But I've been contemplating adding an ionizer also. As of late we have been having to add a lot of shock, and was thinking that the ionizer could help reduce the chemical costs. So what do you good people think? Bob
  6. We have a used Marquis Euphoria, and it seems like we are having to add a lot of shock to it. Some times 2-3 times per week @ 8 1/2 oz. per 420 gl. The previous owner is a friend of ours, and he said to check the ozonator. So the question is . . . how does one know if it's working. I can see tiny bubbles coming from the oz jet, but he said some thing about seeing a glow from some where on the generator. Any help would be appreciated. I'm getting tired of buying shock, and it seems to dry the skin for a couple days after adding. Marty
