  1. I live in the Milwaukee, WI area and have a 10 year old Master Spas hot tub. I replaced the cover after 5 years because it was waterlogged and sagged a lot. The more it rained or snowed, the more the weight would build up and the more it would sag. The sag was most noticeable not in the middle (hinge area) of the cover, but between the hinge and the outer edges. IOW, there were 2 sag areas, one on each half of the cover. After replacing the cover with another Master Spas cover, the new cover started to sag after less than 1 year. I realize now the MS cover is probably not as good as many aftermarket replacement covers. Question to you: Have you had a sag problem (sagging cover that is...)? If so, was it the original OEM cover or aftermarket replacement cover, or both? What solution would you recommend? Thanks for your input!
  2. Pics of my spa setup can be seen at: http://www.spascreen.com It is an 11-year old Master Spa that has been surprisingly reliable (knock on wood). Deck was designed with lots of extra support to handle the weight of tub. I use it year-round, even in cold Wisconsin winters. Worst case was in 10 degrees (F) with wind last winter.
  3. Check out: http://www.tub-a-cabana.com I do not have one (no major mosquito problems) but I met the owner of the company (great guy) and it seems to be well built and a solid design. I would think it would work very well for you, especially with your WNV concerns. The fan idea could also work, but having a strong enough breeze to do the job would be annoying. Good luck!
  4. TIA: Check out www.SpaScreen.com This is a retractable privacy and wind screen that I designed that mounts to the side of the hot tub. It does not interfere with the cover as many other tub-mounted alternatives do, and it only takes a few seconds to extend when you want to use it and less than 10 seconds to rewind when done. It is made in the US (Milwaukee). The only issue with your application may be the height of the screen is 20". If the townhouses are too high above you, you may need a taller screen. If so, let me know and I can build a taller version for you. Thanks. Dave
