  1. Great spa and nice job of setting it, looks like you are in for some great relaxing times.
  2. Are these the same jets that are going to be on the Cameo too? From what I have read in my '08 catalog, yes.
  3. Upon Further Review..... My dealer got the 08 Maxxus on the floor today and I got to check it out (dry). I was also handed an 08 catalog, so I have more info. BTW, I say my dealer and I haven't even purchased from him yet. The bottom part I was told about is not actually a shell like some others. Sundance doesn't believe in those water trays, they want you to be able to see water if there is a problem. They did however put in a "Synthetic Base & Moisture Barrier - Provides a solid foundation impervious to moisture and insects" (taken from the '08 catalog). They also changed the hand jets found in some seats/loungers. Here is a picture that I took (did I mention this dealer is really great?): I wet tested their Optima which has the same seats (just not as much leg room as the Maxxus) and it was great. It looks like the Maxxus may be the spa for us. I'll post my story in another thread when it is done.
  4. Woot! Congrats! Gin and Tonic, nice touch
  5. Tell her you have a meth lab and have never had a problem with those chemicals killing her plants....that was a joke, don't tell her that. Invite them up one time, let them check it out, perhaps get in for a while and they may want one themselves. I have never heard of a spa dumping all of it's water at once. Like the previous posts, if your water is in good shape, even if it did somehow all run out, it would be safe for the plants (for the most part). Reassure her you keep the water in good condition and I bet she'll be fine.
  6. I am looking to get the Sundance Maxxus and have been putting it off (well, not really putting it off) while I get all my ducks in a row; electrical, pad, removing pool fence, yada yada yada. When I was in there today (I like to go in there and drool from time to time with no real agenda), the dealer told me he was getting the '08 Maxxus and Cameo in this week. He was going to fill the Cameo so they will have a Cameo and Optima to wet test.....woohoo! I asked him what the changes for the 08 models and he said the ONLY change was the bottom will no longer be bare wood, they will have some type of waterproof covering/shell. That was a feature I really thought was cool in the Jacuzzi. Anyway, just though I'd share that, I'll let you know when I purchase the Maxxus, which is actually the easy part, the hard part is everything else to make it work.
  7. Well, I have been told by somebody else that the lounges ARE the same between the 2. Probably why nobody replied, they were wondering what the difference actually was lol If somebody knows otherwise, feel free to post, otherwise, I am going to call this closed.
  8. Does anybody know (wet testers especially) if there is a difference in the lounge seats between the Sundance Maxxus and the Sundance Cameo? The dealer told me that he personally liked the Cameo better. I have not wet tested the Maxxus, so I don't know if they're the same. The dealer doesn't have the Cameo to wet test either, but he does have the Optima which I am going to be trying. I am looking at purchasing one or the other (Maxxus/Cameo), I like the Maxxus for several reasons, but if the lounge is different, I'd consider the Cameo. Any thoughts? Thanks
  9. Thanks for the input, it sounds like what he said makes sense afterall. I will probably pass on the ozonator, I can see how people can get a false sense of security with it and not maintain the chemicals as they should.
  10. Long time listener, first time caller. I am looking at spas and been doing all kinds of research and I think I have come up with one I like. When I was talking to the dealer about options, he told me the ozonator was not necessary. He told me that unless you open your spa every 48 hours to let the ozone out, it will start to deteriorate the plastics and discolor the cover. I saw some examples of this and it was very noticeable. He also said that with proper chemical ,I think he said a cap full of clear(or shock, can't recall) every few days will take care of the things an ozonator will. He is a maintenance guy turned store owner and seems to know what he is talking about, pretty straight forward, no BS kind of salesman. My question is, does what he said have merit? I don't mind doing chemicals more often than not if it means my cover and knobs don't discolor. Is this a common thing to tell buyers? Thanks in advanced for your input.
