I have an Aquarius Spa, 3 person (triangle shaped) hot tub I purchased from Sam's club about 6 years ago. It's been a great hot tub. Last year I had to replace the housing and seals. After doing so my hot tub pump now randomly shuts off. The pump on indicator led is lit but the pump wont come on. If I reset the hot tub (trip gfi turn on) I can hear the relay click when I toggle the pump switch. The temp shows 103-104, the high cut off is 106. If I wait long enough the pump will come back on. The water temp will stay where I set it, but when the pump isn't running its about as enjoyable as a bath. I want my bubbles when i want them dang it!
When I did the housing swap I had one notable difference. The old house had 2 barbs that were blocked/plugged. The new housing has those barbs open. I didn't have anything to hook them to so I simply looped them together with a small piece of tubing. one bard on inlet and one on outlet. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it but I wanted to make note of it.
Is it possible that the thermostat is giving a false reading and preventing the pump from coming on? Does the pump have a overheat safety the could be triggering? Any ideas how I can test?
Thanks,
Geoff
