Thanks so much for everyone's advice!! guess what it was a thermostat!

I have a Sundance spa... it has a new element.. but all of sudden in the last few days it will not heat past 92 degrees... it had been working fine..I have checked the resets and done that.. any suggestions.. it is an older spa.. no power surges or anything.. what should I look for??? thanks Amber

My sundance spa was hot and now is luke warm...about 92.. the heater is new in the last few months,, any suggestions????

I am so exicted,,, it has gotten warmer here and today I was able to start up my tub!!!!! it has been out of commission for 5 months due to a freeze in a lower pipe... I can't wait to be tubbing again!!

From someone who is dealing with the same issue..due to replacement of parts in cold weather.. YES it probably does have a freeze.... ours has been down since NOV.. I keep thinking one day closer to warm weather.. it probably isn't an airlock. But if it has been cold, I live in Maine it is mostly frozen pipes..

I have a Sundance older spa.. we have replaced parts and got new parts etc.. now we do have flow...it say on panel.. although jets are not working.. maybe ice but when we put the heater on the heater tub is hot to the touch..is this normal?? I just don't want to burn out another one! thanks

My sundance tub has standard and economy, I use economy most of the time in order to save on $$ on the electric bill.. There is a difference as far has how often the heater works..... it works for us

Well good news.. Pump is fine.. had it checked this morning.. we replaced the empeller and defuser a week or so ago.. what happened is the empeller was not free flowing behind the defuser.. but still cold here in Maine.. not sure if ice blockage even though we have put hot steam threw all the lines and had a heater in tub making it over 100 degrees for a few hours.. so probably have to wait til spring.. cuz it just takes alot out of ya. .to fill, drain, refill, drain.. besides the cost of H20 and the cost of heating to find the jets won't work due to ice ....... so that is where we are at.. motor fine.. it was bound up due to empeller and defuser rubbing.

You did not say on this post if your spa is new or not. If it is older then the pump seals may have gone bad and water got into the motor an ruined it if it is a newer spa then my guess would be the start capacitor. This is located on the back of the motor under the plastic cover. Laurel Spa tech for Hillbilly Hot Tubs It is an older sundance spa...BUT we just replaced the seals, and a few other things.. air bubblers work but when you put jets on.. nothing but a hum now we live in a colder climate and have had to do some major work to try to prevent freezing..pretty sure we have done that.. but now a hum... from motor..

ok I feel like we done everything possible to get our tub up and running.. Now the motor/pump is humming instead of running.. the air bubblers are working but when u go to use the jets.. all you hear is the hum of the motor??? sound like she had died??? thanks in advance... Amber

Put a portable heater under the spa away from anything that can melt... If worse comes to worse put a tarp over the hot tub and use a construction heater.. My old hot tub froze solid so I used the construction heater with that one.. My new tub came with water frozen in the lines so I used the portable one for that one.... hope that helps! Thanks we are working on that right now.. getting a heater underneath!! lets hope for the best.. it is in the teens here today OK I THINK WE ARE ONE STEP CLOSER WE HAVE THE BLOCKAGE GONE!! OK... been one of those few weeks.. just did final repairs to hot tub.. there seems to be a blockage.. I am sure an ice blockage.... I have a steamer to put threw it.... hum the air jets are clear.......any other suggestions?? besides waiting til spring..

Our Hydro-Spa Z60 (9/2005) uses two 5hp pumps for jets and a single 1hp pump fpr "turbo air injection" (air-only jets). Filtration is provided by one of the 5hp pumps running at low speed on a user-set schedule. This pump has developed a serious leak that can be observed at the point where the motor armature enters the plastic pump impeller housing. 1. Is impeller/housing/seal replacement an easier repair than attempting disassembly of the existing impeller/housing to replace just the seal? Thanks! I am in hopes of knowing for sure saturday... I did find a site that should me all that together.. a KIT they called it.. so I will price stuff out.. I have web pages gual to show this guy and hopefully we can find out SD .
