  1. Had 18x36x6 vinyl liner inground installd this spring. Now is time to prepare for winter, local pool guy recommends the loop-loc "ultra-loc" solid winter "trampoline" cover. Says its the best around...quoted a price of $2,100.00 which includes installation of the 46 fasteners that have to be drilled into the surrounding concrete. I WILL NOT deal with the company who installed the pool. They raked me over the coals duringthe install. Once they do the first season closing (only to keep the warranty in place) they are HISTORY! By the way, they are Del-Val Pools in South Jersey if anyone was wondering. Please get back to me asap regarding the quality and price of this cover...I want to get back to the guy by weeks end to get it ordered so as to be covered at a reasonable time. Also, mesh covers are out of the running, solid is the only choice! Thanks in advance!
  2. Looking at a inground liner pool 18x36. Dealer wants to use Pentair sand filter and pump. I am considering a salt chlorinator, they recommend the Pentair Intellichlor of course fot $1,600. I have found it uninstalled for about $1,200. ad may just buy it aftermarket and install myself. They also want to sell me the Polaris 380, and I have seen good/bad posts on it. Cost for it from the dealer is $1,200. If I have them plumb for it now, is it difficult to hook up the booster pump myself? Is the polari a good buy, or are there better ones? I have a friend who gave up on his. Please help....I need info!
  3. We are looking to replace our above ground with an inground. Looking at the fiberglass pools. was quoted a $27,500 prive for a 16x38x6 pool with 3' concrete surround, pump. filter. light, and rails. Is that high for fg? The business is Pleasure Pools out of Glassboro, NJ. They have done 2 and are working on their 3rd in our town. Says if I sogn up by next Monday, I get it for that price. If not, goes to $29,500 since he would have to bring all his equipment back to my area. He had no info as to warranties, but is selling Dolphin brand white fiberglass pools. A little leary, don't like being rushed. If anyone has any comments of fiberglass vs line and especially this installer please let me know. Thanks Gacto
