  1. I purchased an Artesian Cypress Point in Jan 08. It has been fine so far. I thought that I got a lot of bang for my buck with this spa. My biggest gripe is that you can only set the spa to automatically run the big pumps for only two 5 minute sessions per day for filtering. The circulation pump can be set to run 24x7. Hence, the water quality seems to degrade more quickly than on our old spa (D1). The D1 could be set to run the big pumps automatically for at least 6 hours per day. The filters really got dirty on the D1. The Artesian filters don't get dirty at all. I paid about 9K for my Cypress Point FYI.
  2. I'm 6'4 and I went with a 37" deep spa, but only because of have 2 smaller children and a 5'3" wife. For myself only, I would have preferred a deeper spa. Definitely wet test any spa you are considering because you may not like the depth of the seats or width of certain seats in the spa.
  3. Now GFCI continually trips. Inside of pump compartment is relatively dry. Obviously water got under seal on topside button panel. Is panel shot or will GFCI stop tripping once the panel dries out? Thanks.
  4. My Artesian Cypress Point has variable speed/pressure pumps just as you describe. There is a dial for each pump that controls the pressure just like a volume control on a stereo.
  5. We purchased an Artesian Cypress Point in Dec. 07. The tub has performed well for us. We had one minor 'adjustment' that had to be performed by the dealer to the door of the filter area. I did a lot of shopping around and thought that I got a lot of features for my $ with the Artesian Platinum line. I had a D1 Nautilus prior the the Artesian. I liked the control panel on the D1 much better than the Artesian. The Artesian cannot be programmed to have the 3 main pumps come on for filtering for more than two 5 minute intervals every day. You can program the Artesian to have the circ pump run for 24 hours per day. With the D1, you could program the main pumps to filter for up to 8 hours a day if you wanted, plus you had the 24 hour circ. pump as well. Hence, I don't feel the the water quality is quite as good with the Artesian as it was with the D1. I don't remember exactly how much I paid, but it was in the $9k range with ozonator, light package, cover, lifter, steps, starter chems, delivery, etc.
  6. I recently purchased a new Artesian Cypress Point model. I have programmed both filter start and stop cycles to begin and then stop 2 hours later. The tub will begin its filtering cycle at the correct start time, but then will stop after exactly five minutes. I have changed the start and stop time on both cycles, but that has made no difference. So, my tub is filtering just 10 minutes per day (2 five minute cycles). The tub is running in standard mode. Anyone know what the fix may be to this? Thanks.
  7. Thanks for the comments everyone. The spa that was heating very slowly was a Pelican Bay model. I asked the dealer about the slow heating and he stated that "it takes a while to heat up 575 gallons of water". I wasn't impressed with his response. I saw another Artesian post on this board (can't remember exact topic) where that user's Artesian had trouble maintaining temperature. Hence, I thought that I better ask. Thanks.
  8. At the local Artestian dealer, it took the tub that I wet tested about 5 hours to warm from 89 degrees to 97 degrees at room temp. When I sat in the tub and felt the water coming out of the heater jet, the water wasn't that hot compared to the water coming out of the heater jet on my old D1. I am concerned that the Artesian will not be able to hold temperature when the tub is in use in cold weather. Are there any Artesian owners out there that can attest that the Artesian's heaters are not a problem in cold weather? I am seriously considering the Cypress Point model. Thanks.
  9. I have a buried propane tank (1000 gal.) and and septic system in my back yard. I plan on also putting my hot tub out there somewhere. Does anyone have any guidelines on how far I need to place my hot tub away from these buried structures and feeder lines. I plan on having the tub sitting on the ground on either a yet to be poured cement slab or a pea gravel filled pit with 4-6" of pea gravel. Thanks.
  10. I have decided to purchase a D1 Californian. My local terrritory dealer is quoting me about $8600. I have found an ex-D1 dealer in the next state over selling his 9 remaining tubs much cheaper. They are supposedly new and unused, but were displayed on his showroom floor prior to terminating the line and his dealership. He is selling the same tub for $6000. I contacted D1 tech support directly and they said that they will honor the full 5 year warranty on the ex-dealers tubs. I will be on my own if I purchase from the out of state dealer for coordinating service calls, etc as I'm certain that my local D1 dealer will tell me to go pound sand should I have any issues. Any recommendations out there? $2600 is a lot of $$. Thanks.
