  1. Thank you for your help, I much appreciate it! I stopped using bromine tablets (aquabrome spa) because i have read that they cause low pH and low Alkalinity problems. I think that this is true because in the last 2 months I only used sodium bicarbonate to raise the pH and TA, but the TA always dropped back to 20 ppm (the water straight out the hose pipe is pH=8,4, TA:50-60ppm, CH:40ppm) Is it true that Bromine tablets lower the TA "the whole time" (24/7)? What effects do bromine tablets really have to the TA? One week ago, I decided to switch to chlorine (dichlor granules) without changing the water. Is it allowed to switch from bromine to chlorine in general? And is it allowed to switch back or will I get problems because of the CYA in the water? So, should I use the 65% chlorine without CYA only? (Some people say switching in general is allowed some say it isn't. What is true? ) Maybe I don't have a red algae in my spa but a biofilm!? I have read an interesting article which says that if you have a biofilm in your spa and super-chlorinate the water then you will get red spots and streaks which are dead bacteria ("dead biofilm"). This dead bacteria look exactly like red algae. Can I really have a red "dead" biofilm? (I super-chlorinated the water after we came back from holidays because the FC was 0 and got the red spots and streaks.) Sorry for all that questions!!! I am a bit confused. greetings, Max EDIT: I forgot, we always use the same swimsuit and are not in an ocean area.
  2. Hello, Today my 2 months old water (in the spa) is clear again, the PH is around 7,5, the FC is 1-2ppm. We have been on holidays (for 2 weeks) and when we come back the ozone generator didn't work (no bubbles come out) and the water was cloudy because the FC was around 0. So I shocked the water and now it's clear again but now I have got red algae in my spa. It's not directly in the water, it's outside! On the pillow and around the buttons there are spots and streaks which are thin, red and slimy . I have read it's not really an algae at all, but a form of bacteria. Is that true? Do I have red algae or red bacteria? Is there a difference at all? I called a friend of mine and told him about the red algae problem and that the ozone generator didn't "bubble". He is not sure why ozone generator stopped working but he thinks that the red algae could have caused a problem with the tubes which are plugged into the ozone generator. He thinks that not enough water or air can come through the tube to the ozone generator. But he is not sure what to do. Can red algae/ bacteria really cause a problem like this with an ozone generator (corona discharge)? (The water is clear again.) Thanks in advance!!!! Max EDIT: I bought the ozone generator 2 months ago and it worked fine the whole time.
  3. Hello, I have bought AquaBrome SPA and the Aquabrome Regenerator. In the next days I'm refilling my spa. How can I use bromine correctly? I don't have Sodium bromide so how can I rise the bromine level in a short time -the bromine tablets are hardly soluble. How many tablets of bromine should I use for 680 gallons of water? When do I need the regenerator? I have a cd ozone generator so do I generally need the regenerator? Thank you very much!!! greetings, Max
  4. Hi, The filter cartridges are very expensive here in Europe (about 100 Euro one filter). I need 5 filters for the Hotspring Vista. Does anyone know a good and cheap online shop for factory replacement filter cartridges which ships to Europe, too? Thank you in advance!!! greetings, Max
  5. No, not the entire cover but a big part of the cover (should be below the top of the spa so that we can have a better view from the inside out of the spa). I think you are thinking of a Covermate II. Depending on where you mount it, it almost touches the ground on the side when it is open, (make sure to leave room for the snow!) and only leaves about a foot or so of the cover (depends how big your cover is) above the side of the tub. Hope this helps. Thanks, Randy Yes, but the covermate 3 is the only cover lifter which you can use if you have the sundance maxxus spa -that's what i have heard but i don't know if it's true or not. And there should be 3 different versions of the covermate 3, is that true? I have asked here, too: http://www.poolspaforum.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=20942
  6. Hello, A friend of mine told me that there are 3 different types (versions) of the Covermate 3 spa lift: 1.) one type is the standard covermate 3, 2.) one type is for jacuzzi spas only and 3.) one type is for the Sundance Maxxus only. Is that true? I though only one covermate 3 exists for all models since 2005? greetings, Max
  7. No, not the entire cover but a big part of the cover (should be below the top of the spa so that we can have a better view from the inside out of the spa).
  8. Thank you for your answer. I am looking for a cover lift which does not stand upright on the top edge of the spa. The cover should go down to the ground (next to the spa). Which cover lift can I use? greetings, Max
  9. Hello, I have a sundance maxxus and need a cover lift (remover) which can lift the cover to the ground so the cover stays beyond the spa instead of "hovering" next to the spa. I have read in the forum that the cover mate 3 with extentions should be the answer but the extentions are not available anymore. Is that true? Does anyone know a good shop where I can buy a cover lift? Thank you very much! greetings, Max
  10. Here in Europe we have 20 minutes only! So, if i could upgrade to 60 minutes that would be great!!!
  11. Thank you for your answer! Yes, I mean after 20 minutes the pumps are turned off and you have to push the jet buttons again in order to turn in on. Is there a way to "hack/delete" this?
  12. After 20 minutes the European model of the Sundance Maxxus turns off (this is a factory setting for the European market.) How can I solve this "problem"? Do I have to change the jumper settings or upload a new American firmware? Thank you in advance!!! Max Edit: After 20 minutes the pumps are turned off and you have to push the jet buttons again in order to turn it on.
  13. Hi! I am interested in the Sarena Bay (Dimension One). What are the changes in 2009? I asked Dimension One but didn't get any email back! Thank you in advance, Max
  14. Hi! Just found a pdf-file "Sundance Spas 2009 Product Changes" of the 880 series. Can anyone confirm these changes? I am not sure if the pdf-file is true or a fake. On the homepage of sundance there is no new information about these 2009 changes. Here is the link: http://www.poolbyggarna.se/spa/2009.pdf greetings, Max ps: Sundance changed a lot in the 880 series.
  15. In America, the cost of the Sundance Maxxus is about 10500 dollars and the Amore Bay (dimension one) is 12500 dollars. My dealer here in Austria (not Austrailia:) wants for the Maxxus 17000 euro! and the Amore Bay 19000 euro. What experiences have you made when you bought your spa. What would be a good price for the two spas here in Europe? Can one maybe import it from the states? Thanks in advance, Max
  16. Thank you for your quick answers!!! I will wet test both but i think i will buy the amore bay!
  17. Hi, i want to buy a new spa and would like to know which one is better: The Maxxus (Sundance) or Amore Bay (Dimension 1). The D1 salesman told me that the dimension one has the much better technics inside (engine, tubs, lcd display). Is that true? He said that Dimension 1 has the best technics of all spas on the market and that the higher price is justified. Here in Europe the dimension one is much more expensive. Is the higher price really justified? The D1 knows when it stands outside and if its summer or winter. Why is this really good? I like both spas the same but if the quality of the D1 is really that better i would buy the amore bay. Thanks in advance, Max
  18. @Flyonthewall: Yes, the sundance dealer told me that the grandee wouldn't heat with the jet pumps running and one could use it 30 mins in the winter! He also said that the technics of hotspring aren't that good. The hotspring dealer told me that the quality of sundance is not so good as their quality so i asked here for support! Thanks for your help!!! Max
  19. Thanks!!! I wet tested both spas and i like them both so its hard to decide. I hope someone can help me and tell me about he quality or differences between those spas.
  20. Thank you for your answer!!! Which spa would you recommend? Which one has the better technics (jets, heater, engine,..)? Which one ist better in the winter? How many volts does the Sundance Maxxus have?
  21. I have heard that the Hotsprings don`t heat the water if the jets are running, so you can use these spas just a short time (30 mins) when its winter. The Sundance spas have 2 powercables, one for the jets and the other for the heating. However the Hotspring spas just have one powercable for both. Is this true? Which spa has the better quality, the Hotspring Grandee or the Sundance Maxxus? Which spa would/did you buy? Which one is better in the winter? Thanks in advance!!! Max
