  1. Good friend, however finding the fair market value is the goal as I will provide the friend discount to the value of the spa. I already spoke to the place that I purchased the spa from (purchased a pool from them as well) and they agreed to move it at cost. I will post some pictures (inside of the spa, correct?) The outside is surrounded by snow as the Lancaster area has been hit pretty hard this year. There has been no leaks and I am pretty nuts about making sure my chems are checked constantly so I expect no issues.
  2. I hope the experts out there can assist me. I am moving out of state and am planning to sell my 2007 Caldera Geneva Spa to a friend and we are looking to understand what the fair market value is for this spa. Can anyone provide a fair market price guide for selling spas? If it matters, Spa is White Pearl / Coastal Grey w/steps, e z lift, waterfall, and has a brand new cover purchased less than 6 months ago. My contract also says it contain "I-beam braces supporting" not sure if that is relevant. I would greatly appreciate any solid advice on resale values that my friend and I can use as a starting point.
  3. Sounds to me they used a dull drill bit in the hammer drill. The brass washers are fastest way to fix the problem, but they should give them to you Thanks for the answer, I am meeting with the builder tonight and he has asked me to ignore the standard letter that was sent out. I think that they will give me the brass washers.
  4. I just had a safety cover installed, the kind that has the locks directly in the cement that screw down when the pool is opened. I am very happy with the builder overall but was disappointed at the damage to the cement around the locks. I know that the metal post screws into the ground flush when not is use, but around the metal posts, there are small craters about the size of a quarter to half dollar wide and about a centameter deep. I have not seen this kind of damage at either of my two brother in laws pools and was wondering if this is normal or could be due to other factors such as the temperature when installed, that it was installed when it was raining, etc. The pool company suggested that I purchase the O rings from them to cover the damage up. Well, I am unhappy with the need to add the O rings in the first place and them suggesting that I pay for the O rings is making matters worse. Am I being the unrealistic customer as this happens all the time or do I have a legit beef with the way the work was completed? Any feedback is welcome, many thanks!
  5. I purchased the floor model which has the grey finish. The inside is pearl. We needed a finish like this as it went best with the grey color of our existing stamped concrete patio. They break ground for my pool on Monday and I am lucky enough to have that day off so I will be there hoping that they do not hit rock The Spa will be installed sometime towards the end of the week or in the following week. I can't wait to take pictures and share them with all. Finances allowed me to put the pool in with a rock water fall and the spa. I will be using the orange security fence from the pool builder all winter until spring comes and we add the concrete and black iron fence. I think it is best to let the ground settle first. I know that this is the wrong forum, but I had a great experience with Pacific Pools in East Amherst, NY (so far). Many thanks!
  6. Great advice by all, thank you. I went with the Geneva for $300 less then the previous quoted price. This is a great Message Board, friendly advice and pretty funny battles between people that have strong opinions. I am located outside of the Buffalo NY area so getting the pool / spa together saved me the 8% sales tax (over $500.00).
  7. Thanks for the reply, the 641R would include the durawood cabinet, all weather shell, vortex skimmer, waterfall - aka drink holder, interior light, safty cover w/ locks, 6 months of starter chems, and other perks I mentioned. This is also a dry floor, where the Geneva is currently the only one full in the other show room.
  8. Greetings, I need some advice - anything you wish to offer, on the Utopia Geneva and / or the Marquis 641R. Offered the Utopia Geneva for $8600 including steps, lift, chem kit, delivery and install (see below) and the Marquis for $6800 with the same level of perks and install. My question, is the Utopia Geneva worth 2K more in your opinion? Background, I am purchasing an in-ground pool and with it wish to purchase a separate hot tub. Both companies will deliver and install the hot tub as part of the pool install. One sells Marquis and the other Caldera. My pool purchase which is a significant purchase is a flip of a coin decision...this is crazy, but I like the idea of one company doing all of the work. The significant pool purchase will be influenced by the spa purchase.
