  1. I'm hearing now that Sundance will void my warranty if I use a salt chlorine generator so i probably will not do it (at least for now).
  2. I am installing an in-ground fiberglass hot tub right now and was considering installing a salt water system. I know several people with salt water pools and they are great. Does anyone here have experience using saltwater in a portable spa?
  3. I copied this from a website that I was reading: Salt Chlorine Generators, also referred to as Salt Chlorinators, Saltwater Chlorinators or Salt Chlorination Systems, are actually miniaturized chlorine manufacturing plants: the same technology is utilized. The devices are plumbed in-line and work by electrolytically converting salt, in the spa or hot tub water, into chlorine as it passes over specially coated titanium electrode plates. Salt must be added to the water prior to start up, as directed. Thereafter, salt need only be added occasionally, to replace that lost due to splash out, pump outs or backwashing. The device generates Free Chlorine and destroys odorous and irritating chloramines, as the water passes through the cell. Chlorine production is regulated by a controller setting and the equipment operates in conjunction with the timer controlling the filter. Properly used, there is much less sensation of chlorine being present. The other water analysis parameters must be maintained, as with any chlorine-maintained spa or hot tub. It certainly is easy-to-use and convenient and lends itself to automation. Clicking on the underlined and highlighted "keywords" or "catch phrases," in the archived answers will give you access to additional information on that topic or product. Please refer to the Glossary, if there are terms or phrases that require explanation.
  4. Does anyone have any experience or advice in coverting a portable hot tub to salt water?
  5. I made a 180 and ended up buying an in ground version of the Sundance Marin today. I will start excavating next week and be ready for it when it arrives in 3-4 weeks
  6. I bought a Sundance In Ground Marin today - I will start excavation next week and it shoudl be here in about 3-4 weeks.
  7. I made a purchase today. I decided to so with the Sundance Marin but I bought an in ground version. I am going to start my excavation next week and it should be here in about 3-4 weeks.
  8. Sorry everyone - I'm over it anyway. I just went an bought a Sundance In Ground Marin. I knew I was not going to be happy until I did it so I went for it. I have to get the excavation done now and it shoud be here in about 3-4 weeks.
  9. Thanks for the imfo. do you think it would be possible to relocate the equipment to a different location within the cabinet? I have plans for a more permanent step at the angled corner and would prefer to have the access panel on the back.
  10. I checked it out - Thanks. there were some good ideas there.
  11. I am interested in building a stone surround about 18" high off of my stone patio and then sinking a fiberglass tub in to it (so a 36" tub would be 18" below grade and the top would be 18" above grade). I have pleanty of room behind it to house the pump and heater in an enclosed cabinet. Is this a totally crazy idea?
  12. I looked at it over the weekend and found two (show tubs) that were discounted to $4500 in LA. I have decided to go large and pick a new location. I am now looking at at Hot Springs Sorrento for $4095. It is a true 4 seater and 36" deep. Just can't seem to make a decision!
  13. That is the one I bought, it will be here Thursday. I paid $4100 for everything including, setup, delivery, cover lifter, chemicals, and sales tax. Cant give you any monthly cost info but from what I have read and been told its seems to be insualted well and is backed by a well known spa manufacturer. What area are you in. Sounds like the same deal (cover lifter and all). I am dealing with California Home Saps in Long Beach (Signal Hill), CA.
  14. I have been agonizing for 6 weeks now over which small spa to bu. I was leaning toward a 2 person triangle spa for my 2nd floor deck (probably the Cal Spa HS901) but today I decided to install on my stone patio downstairs. I still dont have a lot of room but found what I think is a killer deal on a Hot Springs Sorrento. First - any opinions on Hot Springs? Then how about $4095 for this tub - seems like a good deal - what do you think?
