  1. Sounds great brian glad everything is working out, since I'm still new to this chemical thing I won't bother to help out I'm using a system called (EZ-OM SPA) everything has been pretty simple so far but do what your local dealer has they can help out tremendous and you can usually take a water sample to them to help decipher any adjustments needed. Once again congrat's on your accomplishment be sure to let us know how your first soak went!!!!

  2. Gordon, with out seeing your layout it's hard to say but if you have to go underground I would suggest using hard pvc (grey type) from the wall of house to the nearest or easiest way to the patio from there hard pipe it as close to the tub as possible. after that connect to sealtight so it will be flexible inside the tub area. you may need more wire depending on your route selection look at my thread (pictures of my spa) the last picture will show you an example of how I ran my wire from the ground up into tub.

  3. Brian, glad to hear it was a simple fix I recently bought a used tub approx. 9 yrs old went through some of the same or similiar problems your are now facing I filled the tub up directly into the tub but for me there weren't any air lock or low level water issues. I did run into a cracked manifold cost $45.00 for parts and glue and have been hot-tubbin for the past 26 evenings missing only one night, I'm sure when you get everything up and running you will find a smile on your face knowing you can fix most anything that will arise. Troubleshooting is a bit more involed especially when it might be electrical hope all work's out for you and be sure to post a picture when you finally get to enjoy your tub.

  4. If you think you have air in the lines simply look at the front side of the pump housing and loosen the plugs to see if you have water in the housing (loosen the top 2 first to let air out) if you have water flow at these plugs then your pump should be pumping to your jets. If not next check and see if there is any type of blockage from the intake side of your pump, (you will probally want to drain to do this) if there is no visible signs of blockage follow this line to you filter area and try blowin air (with an air compressor) to see if any thig come through the other end, if all check out good do the the following to the discharge side putting air into the discharge hose and check for air flow and the jets.

If you happen to find something in the lines before reconnecting the hoses to the pump begin re-filling the tub ensure good flow to the pump re- install intake hose when flow comes through discharge side re-connect hose. If you didn't find any type of blockage you could possible have a broken impeller, if your pump isn't leaking anywhere near the pump housing your seal is still good.

Sorry for such a lengthly reply and no I'm not a spa tech but I worked on and with pumps in a local factory for many years and if the motor is turning and there is no leaking from the housing your problem could be air lock (usually the pressure from the water will work this out) or blockage and possibally a bad or broken impeller. This pump will feed into a manifold in which will distribute your water to your jets and I would say if there is blockage it would more than likely be on the intake side due to filter removed at some time and since you recieved this tub used who knows what anyone has done to it.

  5. Lately we've been keeping the temp. around 103, it's hard to believe what 2 degree's difference feels like. I maxed the temp. out the other evening to 107 let's just say my time in the tub was about 15 min. and I won't make that mistake again, everything is still working fine and my chemical routine is alot more efficient, I've only missed one evening out of 24 days in the tub since owning it. :P

  6. Can't help you out a whole lot without seeing the tub in person, but for your flow problem make sure all pumps are running and that the valve gates are completely open along with the jets and divertors. Your heating situation could be a bad heating coil or your flow error possibally won't let let it heat, try checking with a local dealer for solutions or get the names of the equipment and try re-searching either way it will be a small investment compared to new and you should be able to get this tub up and running with a little effort keep us informed.

  7. (UPDATE) 19 days later and all is well in hot tub land, I or better yet we have used this old tub on the average of 1.5 - 2.0 hours every night since geting it up and running. still learning the chemical process took my second water test in to my local dealer and everything is w/in spec still not entirely sure what I'm doing but it's all good at this point in time, will keep you all informed of electrical use as my bill should be coming in sometime soon will check w/ the wife just got in from a soak set at 105 and the ambient tempt. at approx. 49 degrees what a feeling and a sight to see the misty fog from the tub. good night for now!!!!!!:rolleyes:

  8. Hopefully no pun intended but for (D.P. Roberts) when your pro's show up to repair your tub hopefully you'll never need it and some young kid comes out to fix it you'll realize there's that not much to them. If it be an electrical problem then it will take on a more challenging task for some and expierence will help in this catagory, but seriously some of you on this site need to get more hands on. (tiny bubbles ) I commend you for helping your hubby with the transit in the end you see the savings, it seems hard now but in the end results you'll know how the things were done and will appreciate your new tub all the more.

  9. These type of responses crack me up I used to buy the high dollar items , for example I still own a 1997 lexus sc400 call a dealer and ask their rate for spark plugs to be installed it's like $275.00 to $350.00 they gotta be crazy. I recently bought a used 9 year old spa with original pumps looks like the 24 hour circulating pump has been changed out and this was a home depot or lowes spa the 2 repairs I've had to do has been a total cost of $60.00 one due to the prior owner leaving water in the tub and the other due to someone twisting air divertor knob to hard. I will take this tub over my lexus due to a more simpliar design and more affordable parts probally generic like waterway and magnetec motors but my lexus is very expensisive to maintain and it only has 80,000 mile on it, in it's day it was cream and still is in my opinion but when something does break down which is few and far between I wish it was a gmc or ford much easier on the pockect book.

  10. Water issue's have been resolved and the part for the air divertor is going to be $9.95 it's on order. this is the 14th consectitive day this tub has been used average time 2hrs per evening and all is still going well I'm glad I found this tub my aches and pains are exstinct at this time I'm sure as time goes on my use will be less, but for now couldn't be happier!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. (BIGGZ) thank you, the weekend went fine but now the water is not as clear re-shocked due to heavy use looking better plus one of the kids maybe not his fault broke one of the air divertor, regulator valves no problem popped the top off and removed the orifice now this seat has no control for now but it's on at full blast the way I like it, will get it fixed a.s.a.p. for $15.00.

twelve day's later still tickled to death and have been it it every night for at least 1.5 hours don't believe me just ask my wife she said I have found a new lover I'm sure it will slow down some after a month or 2.
