  1. Good news to report - pool is now beautifully clear and blue and is still improving by the day! Can I thank all those who took the trouble to read about my problems and offer advice.
  2. Thought I would post some photos of the pool. The shock treatment we have tried does not seem to be working. The entire pool: Detail of green pool: Detail of steps of pool - we use this as a measurement of clarity!
  3. The pool is cloudy-green, as in green throughout the entire length, breadth and depth of the pool. At the shallow end, I was able to just about see the bottom of the pool, but then it got worse and I can't even see the bottom of the pump now. Where the water is deepest, the pool is a deeper green. We beleive that the chlorine we were trying to use as a shock treatment was the wrong type - it stated that it was shock chlorine treatment, but it contained chlorine stabaliser. As a result, when I tried using it, the chlorine levels remained high for days. We have just got some more shock chlorine treatment, without stabliser (CYA?). Looking on the pool maker's website, they suggested using 10g/1cubic meter - but we were then told to use more like 300g / 1 cubic meter by the pool store. This is quite a difference! Any ideas? We're about to put a LOT of chlorine into this pool .... By the way - we are based in the south of France, if that makes any difference!
  4. Hi, This is my first posting, I hope someone can help!! I became the owner of a Desjoyaux Salt Water pool this summer which is proving extremely difficult to manage. I currently have water that is a fantastic florescent green despite having established a pH level of 7, and a shock chlorine level well off my testing kit measurement scale (in excess of 3 ppm). I recently removed half the pool water as the cyanuric acid was in the region of 100ppm. The cyanuric acid levels are now between 0 and 30 therefore the chlorine should be very active in "seeing off the algae" as I understand it. I have ‘double bagged’ the filter and am cleaning it every 2 hours, plus repeated brushing of walls and floor. The net result of all my efforts is that the water seems to get greener! Can someone advise please? Pool Size: 80m3 (11m long, 5m wide, 2.5 at deepest point) Filtration Type: Desjoyaux Bag Filter (salt water) HELP!!
