  1. hey spisam, I am looking at the SolanaTX right now, want it so bad, tell me about it, you have had it about 2 weeks, what do you think about it? Do you love it/hate it? What about the strength of the water flow? Is is comfortable for 2? Does the water get and stay the right temp for you? of all I have looked at, this one seems "perfect" for us. I dry tested it and it fit me perfect, let me know what you think about it now. KSAND We love the spa. It feels much larger with the tub full of water than empty. The two of us fit quite nice. The jets are very strong. I love the Moto Massage seat. Nanette prefers the seat with the 8 precision jets. I also sit in the foot well and have the turbo jet hit my lower back. I set the temperature at 104 degrees and it stays constant. I verified the temp with a flating pool thermometer. I bought the Solana TX over the Dreammaker Fantasy because the jets were stronger and I loved the Moto massage. The price was also right at $3400 which included a cover, step, chemicals, ozonator, delivery and set up. The Dealer was excellent. By the way a one tread step is all you would need. Hope this helps in your decision.
  2. I just bought a Solana TX after much research and comments from members of the board. It fits perfectly in my small space. We found the tub very comfortable and the jets strong. I love the moto-massage. Nanette likes the other seat with the 8 jets. The foot jet is pretty cool as well. With water, the spa feels much larger than it is. I paid $3400 for the Solana TX which included the cover, step, chemicals, ozonator, delivery and instalation. There was no cost for an electrician since we simply plugged it in to the dedicated outside receptacle. I have back issues so my doctor gave me a script for a theraputic spa. As a result I did not have to pay a sales tax. I live in Delray Beach Florida and the dealers here want to sell spas. Try to have your dealer lower the price or sweeten the deal with an ozonator or more chemicals or other goodies you may see in his showroom.
  3. I live in south Florida and just bought a Solana TX, 2 person spa, which is part of the Hot Spring family. Members of this forum were very helpful to me. I paid $3400 which included the cover, step, chemicals, ozonator, delivery and set up. The jets are very powerful and the moto massager is wonderful for my back problems. This spa only requires a dedicated standard recepticle. Go online where you can see lots of deals. Then you can compare makes and models with your local dealers.
  4. I had a Solana TX delivered today and had my first dunk tonight. Thus far it has performed as advertised. The sub contractor who installed the spa does so for most of the local spa companies. They stated that the Solana/Hot Spring spa were at the top of the quality list. I followed the manual and the spa is wonderful. Can anyone who owns a Solana TX or other Solana model provide any recommendations or things to look out for.
  5. I recently purchased a Solana TX. It holds about 140 gallons of water. The area the tub is placed has a pea stone surface over compacted earth. I placed 16" square paver stones over the pea stones to form a more solid level surface. First off I am sure that 1700 lbs is empty spas with water can get up to 2 tons. If the dealer says ok and he will service it go for it. I have seen them on pea gravel got to fix it right away if it sinks or shifts It's a small spa. 460 lbs dry, 1700 and change filled. That's only about 150 gallons of water.....are you sure????? I would pour concrete not matter the weight....it's cheap and easy to pour and permanent. 165 gallons.
  6. The statement "energy guaranty of $20-$30 max depending on climate and location" is very ambiguous to say the least. If you live in a cold winter climate - say between 0F and 30F and you never open the cover then just maybe you'll get away with $30, but assuming you're gonna use it a few times a week $60 per month could be what to expect. HS are well insulated tubs, but it doesn't matter how well insulated the shell is when the covers up - all that steam is your $ evaporating. Cost is also very dependant upon where you live. Here in NY a KW costs $0.15, but in other states I believe a KW can be as cheap as $0.08, a difference approaching 100%! I just purchased a Solana TX. The dealer told me to expect at most a $10/mo electric cost here in Delray Beach, Florida. The Hot Spring site actually has a chart where you can calculate the monthly energy cost to operate their spas.
  7. I need a spa with excellent theraputic value. You say the Dream Maker is cool but has weak jets. If that be the case, I'll most likely buy a Solana TX. Do you agree that the Solana TX has excellent jets?
  8. They will struggle to maintain water temp in winter if you are in a cold climate. When I sold them we got a few complaints from customers that they could not get the water above 95-96 when it was really cold in the winter. we bought a dream maker spa last winter. we live in kentucky where it can get pretty cold. never had any problem with it at all. we use the spa about 5 times a week, all year long. i like the looks of it. it looks brand new. the water gets to 104, but goes down to about 102 after the cover is off for about 15 minutes. the cover is easy to get on/off. i really like this spa. Jan, Are the jets strong enough to be theraputic.
  9. Dream maker spas looked interesting to me with a unique technology to heat the water. Yet the knowelgable members of this site seldom mention Dream Maker. Is Dream Maker a good spa and what is wrong with the heat stick compared with the traditional heating element?
  10. I viewed the Solana and Dream Maker Fantasy at the same dealer. Interesting comparison. The Fantasy has much more interior room for 2 than the Solana for equivalent exterior dimensions. The salesman said the Solana is higher quality and has more terapudic jets. From your perspective, has their been any customer complaints about the interior size and depth of the Solana. Another dealer quoted me $3400 for a sealed Solana including cover, step, start up chemical kit and he would include an ozone machine if I buy this week. He also offered a 2% reduction if I paid by check instead of credit card.
  11. Thank you, The Dream Maker Fantasy was quoted at $2799 and the Solana was quoted at $3400. The Dream Maker is molded and has more internal room than Solana. Solana did have much stronger jet pressure as you stated. But the Solana has a wood frame with the acrylic molded pool. Is wood on a stone pad, even pressure treated, good in Florida with its high humidity and termites? I am looking for a therapeudic spa so is the Solana with its stronger jets better than the Dream Maker? Looking for more comments.
  12. I am looking at a two person corner hot tub for the lenai of my Florida home. I found Dream Maker "Fantasy" model and the Hot Springs, Solana Spa TX model. Both are silimilar in size and shape and have similar specs. The jet configuration is different with the Solena Spa TX having the Moto-Massage jet. Pricing is similar as well. I would like advice on which one to purchase since I am not knowlegable of either company.
