  1. These are the ingredients in "super shock n swim" made by HTH. 2. Hey folks, What is the difference between "shock it" pool shock and spa shock. Spa shock is about 8 to 10 dollars per pound while pool shock is 4 dollars per pound and 1 pound of pool shock will do 8,000 gallons of water? Can this be used for a spa?
  3. Not a good idea and there are multiple options that are approved/work fine so there is no need to do this. I understand, It's just that I happen to have some left over from the summer pool season. Well that brings me to another question. What is the difference between "shock it" pool shock and spa shock. Spa shock is about 8 to 10 dollars per pound while pool shock is 4 dollars per pound and 1 pound of pool shock will do 8,000 gallons of water?
  4. Great answer. Thank you very much. And yes I was inquiring about using them in a spa.
  5. Does anyone use chlorine tablets in the filter well. Is it acceptable to use the pool style tablets in a floating dispenser?
  6. I have that exact same spa! Same color and also missing the head pillow.I just got it from craigslist for free. I had to put in a pump and fix a few leaks but it works good. It is a proform spa made by Icon health and Fitness. They no longer make spas. I believe it is a kind of low budget spa but parts are readily available for it. It uses a Balboa spa pack and waterway jets and pumps. Good luck with it, $400 seems reasonable as long as it doesn't have a lot of leaks.
  7. You should have a 2-speed pump (the main #1 pump) and the low speed will kick on when the spa needs to heat or filter. Standard mode: low speed will kick on any time the spa needs to heat to stay at your set temp. Low speed will also kick on to filter twice a day for two hours (default). Econ mode: low speed will kick on to run the filter cycle twice a day for two hours (default) and the heater will only go on while it's filtering if it needs heat. Did you have an electrician do your hook up? What amp breaker do you have on your main panel and disconnect for the spa? If it's a 50 amp breaker then you can run both pumps on high speed and the heat can be on all at the same time. Just check to see if the PC board has an amp setting (jumper) and that it's correct for whatever size breaker you have. A 20 amp breaker means you can not have high speed plus heat at the same time. I will be hooking it up next Thursday. It is a 3 wire 220v set up with 50 amp service. There is a dip switch setting that you can select 30 or 50 amps. it is set for 50 amps. I should be good to go. So what you are saying is that the pumps can be on high and it will still heat at the same time? And if I set it on economy it will heat only during filter cycles? Thank you !
  8. Anyone with a wooden pad on the ground?
  9. I have the spa. Used from Craigs list. Icon fitness proform. Balboa spa pack. 220v. Two, 2 speed pumps. No circulator pump from what I can tell. It does have economy and sleep modes. So does it only filter and heat at the time? Or does it do it at separate times? My guess is that it can't heat or filter when the pumps are on high?
  10. I'm sure I will get it when I fire up my spa next weekend but forgive me for this stupid question. How do you know when you are in a filter cycle? Does it only heat during this cycle? I assume both jet pumps will have to be off for it to heat so does it have a separate circulation pump that runs when it filters and heats?
  11. Ok here is what I just did.I hope I don't regret it. Just got a used spa. Have not filled it and used it yet so I'm not sure what kind of condition it is in. Who knows how long it is going to last, so I built a 8'x8' pressure treated pad that sits on the ground. I packed sand all around to level it. I didn't want to pour concrete, too permanent. If the spa doesn't work out I can move to pad and regrow the grass. Anyone have pad/deck like this? I hope it holds up!
  12. Hello again, As those as you that have read my posts you know that I haven't got my spa fully operational yet. It is set on its base waiting next paycheck to purchase wiring and chemicals. I was just wondering what temperature some of you like to run your spa at. Also what is a good safe temp for children? One more question. I'm thinking of setting up a projector and screen to watch movies witht he kids under the stars. Is 2 hours too long in a tub? Will the temp. drop too much. Thanks for all your help folks. It's good to know that there are people with experience out there willing to share their wisdom.
  13. They are no longer manufactures spa.The company went out of business and there is no warranty support for them. They are low budget spas Thanks for the reply. It uses a Balboa spa pack so it would seem it uses some of the same parts as other spas? I should be able to find parts for this shouldn't I?
  14. Does anyone have experience with these spas? Are these low budgets spas or middle of the road.
