Ok this might sound stupid because I am a Arctic Spa user. What does FC stand for and what should it be at? Take off the panel by the pumps and the ozen generator version 6 is white or light grey with just a wire coming out of the back. Version 7 has a cable plus there is a water port in the back where water is pumped through the sensor when pump 1 is running. The change will take about two hours to do after the water is out. I do not run Bromine but my CP was 6 and the FC was about 2. Now on Version 7 my CP is 2 and FC is 4-5 ppm. Bather load is two people are in the tub 1/2 hr per day.

Arctic Spas Onzen Electrodes And Calcium
toolmantoo replied to Scotte's topic in Hot Tub Water Chemistry
Wow, that was awesome. The only problem is is I think I will have to go back to school and take chemistry to understand all of that. I guess being a hot tub owner means we should all have chemistry degrees. So should I be using Best Defence or shouldn't I because my water is becoming cloudy again. Is there another product to use to clear up my water. James if you are selling Arctic Spas, do you not have your own chemists and scientist to come up with a solution to your spa problems? Just wondering. -
Hello, Well folks it's interesting to hear all your comments. I know I am not the only one with problems with my tub because I am having the exact same problems with mine. BMR you hit the nail on the head. I have been in touch with James who I have found out is a part owner of Arctic spa, Hi James, how was your trip to Hawaii? He really has been a big help and I know you have the best of intentions. I have had the latest update on my tub, new and improved Onzen system, filled my tub, adjusted everything as stated, have been watching everyday the state of my water, but now it is getting cloudy again. I will say that the bromine levels with the new system has been able to keep up with the production of bromine. I'm on CP3 and may have to set it down again. My Ph was high and have just today put in Adjust Down and it seems right now. I'm still learning about everything with being a new hot tub owner. It is frustrating to have people over and they ask why my water is cloudy. Is it really this difficult to own a hot tub and keep the water clear? Well folks feel free to comment as I am sure everyone will. I am interested in know how this Auqua Finese product does so if anyone has any info please pass it along.

Are you talking about the test strips that you use to test the water? If it is yellow that means there is no Bromine in the tub. If it was bright green then that would mean there is too much. You should also talk by saying " my bromine level is 10ppm (parts per million) then people might understand a bit better. I have a cub signature series with the onzen system on it and have had nothing but problems from day one. Have had the system updated twice already and it's brand new. It seems to be working now, for now. I hope your onzen system is working ok because if it's not then your bromine levels will plummet and your water will turn cloudy. If you are using the AquaCeck test strips, I have learnt that they are not that accurate. The colours need to be on the high side to get the right reading. You'll notice this when you go to dealer and get your water tested. It's frustrating when you first start out and I'm still learning how to do this. Good luck.

Is An Ozonator Really Worth The Money?
toolmantoo replied to simonc's topic in Hot Tub Water Chemistry
Hello, I'm new to the whole hot tub thing. I bought an Arctic Spa Cub Signature Series with an Onzen ozenator. Had tub delievered in July and was never able to get proper bromine reading. Complained and complained about the problem and was told warrenty work need to be performed to get the system working properly. They came and "fixed" the problem. Filled tub and did get bromine reading finally. However a week later water is cloudy and remains cloudy no matter what I add to water. Going into dealer today to get water tested. I will say that all other eadings have been ok. After buying tub I did do some research into other tubs well Beachcomer, and they absolutely do not recommend an ozanator system. Well anyways we'll see what happens. I'm new to this so maybe things will work out. -
I really hope something is done to resolve this issue. I have posted other replies. I bought and recieved tub in July and already had the Onzen system fixed/replaced 1 month later cause it was deffective. Not really sure what they did. I was told that the salt water wasn't flowing properly around electrode so electrode was pulled closer to opening of tub thus the new "hockey mask" to allow proper flow. Well, I was able to get bromine readings but now the issue is cloudy water after like a week with new water in the tub. I am waiting for a reply from James so I'll be patient.

Are you a rep. for Arctic Spas?

Did you get the fix for your Onzen system? I bought Cub signature series tub. Have had it since July. Had to have warranty work on it to update onzen system cause it didn't work. Since then I filled tub up and had crystal clear water but now it's all cloudy again after only a couple of weeks of use. I test the water all the time and all levels appear OK using test strips. When I take water into store for testing they always say something different. To be honest I don't think they know what they are talking about because print out will say one thing then they tell me to do differently. I really like my tub but am disappointed with all the hype about how good these tubs are suppose to be. When I bought the tub they told me I only had to change water twice a year. What a bunch of BS. I can't be changing my water every month. Too expensive on the hydro meter. Anyways if anyone else has any advise please advise me.

I was told to just use limestone screenings but once I did I looked at it and told myself I'll be getting crap in the tub so I dry laid flagstone over it.

Well, So far so good. Water is clearing up well. Water test from store said I needed to get bromine level up so I bumped up the Onzen to CP6. Alkalinity was low so adjusted that too. Will keep you informed anyways. Oh just one thing I'd like to say as well, was told that I'll save tons of money in buying chemicals with the salt system, well I would be over $250 so far if had to buy all the chemicals so far. A lot has been covered by warranty due to problem with Onzen system.

Hello there to all. I purchased an Arctic Spa Cub Signature series tub. Paid $11,550. Delivery was on July 27th or so. Had it a couple of weeks and was never able to get a correct bromine reading ever. So I phoned and complained and complained and complained....well turns out they had to do a retro fit with the Onzen system. They came on August 31st and did the retro fit. Had to wait 24 hrs for glue or whatever to dry I guess. Filled tub and added chemicals. It's September 6th today. Last night (the 5th) did a test with strips and voi la, the bromine level was finally correct. The only thing I've had to adjust is the pH level because it is high. So now I'm just in the process of adjusting that. Oh ya the water was cloudy but I'm told that will clear up over time because I just filled tub. It's already started to clear up since last night. Cheers to all and hope to hear from everyone on how their retro fit did. I do love the tub though. I think I should have got a bigger one with more jets. Whats your opinion? ok. had tub on boost cycle and it's done. Just did a test again with strips. pH is on the high side (7.8) so I just added a half a cap full of the "adjust down" again put on boost cycle and will se what happens. I'm sure it will be fine now. Am going to go to the dealer with a water sample just to make sure.
