  1. Thanks to all that responded! I filled my garden hose, kept both ends high then put about 10ft into the water on the cover and BAM! instant syphon. Two days later the majority was gone so I bought a pool cover pump 25ft cord 300GPH to finish the job. We had the Fire Dept. come yesterday to refill what we lost over the winter. Village drinking water! We can brush whille we swim now..
  2. I would check with your local code enforcer. More than likely an inspection will be required along with proper permits. I had to install a dedicated GFI breaker to the box in my garage then run it 75 ft to the site with a double box for the pump and a required courtesy outlet.
  3. This will be my first year opening our pool. There is a foot of water on the winter cover from snow. Can anyone recommend a pump that is $40-$60 ? Is it possible just to stick the garden hose in there to siphon the water out ? Then there are leaves to deal with...Thanks
  4. UPDATE: Thanks to all that responded. I ended up purchasing the Aquabot Pool Rover($350.00)Free s+h . I got to use it twice prior to closing the pool,it worked great! Sparkling clean.... The pool has been closed for 2 weeks now. The real test will be next season, I'll let you know.....Have a fantastic winter!
  5. I like the Polaris turbo turtle for above ground pools. It connects to the return line so it leaves the skimmer open to do its job. It also has its own bag to collect debris. I think they can be bought right around the 200 buck range. Thanks ps 558, I'll check that out.......
  6. Hi Everyone, First post here,Great site!... I would really appreciate some advice as to what auto pool vac works best and where to purchase online. We recently put in a 27' pool, no deck yet which makes vacuuming not so easy. Do I want something that hooks to my filter? or one of the robot type that you empty? Saving on my filter and less backwashing...Thanks in advance!!!
